Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Property Maintenance & Renovation Technician to join our team. This position focuses on construction, repair, and maintenance work. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in a variety of construction tasks, with experience in multifamily residential environments and a strong commitment to quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Perform interior and exterior repairs and renovations on multifamily properties.
• Execute minor plumbing tasks such as fixture replacements, leak repairs, and basic troubleshooting.
• Handle minor electrical work including outlet and switch replacements, light fixture installations, and basic diagnostics.
• Complete carpentry tasks such as door and trim repairs, cabinet adjustments, and hardware installation.
• Conduct general property maintenance to ensure safe and functional living environments.
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet project deadlines and client expectations.
• Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites.
• Communicate effectively with property managers, tenants, and team members.

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of apartment maintenance experience in multifamily or residential environments.
• Proficiency in minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and flooring repairs.
• Possession of own hand tools including hammer, wrenches, tape measure, screwdrivers, and drills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Ability to handle mechanical, painting, drywall, and general maintenance tasks.

Work Environment

Work hours are from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, with potential for short or extended days. The role involves working in the Grand Rapids and Lakeshore area, including apartment complexes, mobile homes, and some rental properties. Employees may use a company van or drive themselves. Work is divided equally between indoor and outdoor settings, so appropriate clothing should be kept on hand. Work orders are managed through Salesforce, ensuring organized and efficient task completion.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
