Position Overview
Growing personal injury law firm in Los Angeles is seeking a Pre-Litigation Attorney to lead their pre-litigation settlement team.
This role involves evaluating personal injury cases from intake to settlement, and requires strong negotiation skills. You will serve as a main point of contact for clients and hire, train, and mentor much of the pre-litigation staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research to support case preparation and strategy development
- Manage case files and maintain organized documentation related to each clients case
- Consult with clients to gather information, explain legal processes, and provide updates on case progress
- Review medical records and other relevant documentation to assess claims
- Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel to achieve favorable outcomes for clients
- Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and opposing parties to ensure clarity and understanding
- Oversee pre-suit team to ensure efficient process
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction
- 2+ years of experience in personal injury
- Strong negotiation skills and a proven track record in settlement negotiations
- Excellent legal research and writing skills
- Effective client consultation and communication abilities
- Experience in managing cases from inception through settlement
- Ability to review and interpret medical records and related documents
- Knowledge of law office management practices and procedures
