Job Overview:

The Equipment Mechanic is the backbone of our operations and ensures our yellow iron and production equipment runs smoothly and efficiently. This role handles routine maintenance to major repairs, working both independently and as part of a dynamic team.


Responsibilities:

  • Safety First: Actively participate in safety committees, training, and always prioritize a safe working environment.
  • Diagnose and Repair: Use your skills to troubleshoot and fix electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and HVAC issues.
  • Keep Us Running: Perform routine preventative maintenance to keep our equipment in top shape.
  • Hands-On Work: Weld, fabricate, and repair components, ensuring everything meets our high standards.
  • On-the-Spot Fixes: Be ready to respond quickly to on-site equipment issues and failures.
  • Collaborate and Innovate: Work with your team to install new equipment and improve existing processes.
  • Drive Results: Drive production amongst the welding operations crew and implement efficient processes and minimize down time. Develop and build upon existing preventive maintenance practices.
  • Strategic Planning: Implement new innovative ways to rebuild or install procured components to ensure peak optimization for our high production line.

  • Problem Solving – Identifies errors, conducts research to determine the cause through an RCA (root cause analysis), and presents logical solutions to mitigate future downtime events.
  • Inventory Control – Identify necessary components and ensures all components and parts are stocked and readily available. Build customer relations with vendors to ensure quality of components and mindful of lead times and budgetary needs.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience with equipment repairs.
  • Advanced knowledge of hydraulic systems, material handling, and the ability to troubleshoot electrical systems up to 480VDC and be able to weld and fabricate components as necessary.
  • Proficient in reading diagrams and schematics, welding, and fabricating components.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • A self-starter who can handle shifting priorities and balance tasks efficiently.
  • A keen eye for safety and the commitment to adhere to company policies.
  • Able to record in detail work tasks performed throughout the day on an online portal to ensure quality of work is maintained.

Physical Requirements:

  • Stand and walk for long periods.
  • Bend, stretch, crouch, and stoop.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Perform repetitive movements and use hands to hand tools and equipment.
