LTC Closed Door Pharmacist
Pay: $65.75/hour (shift differentials may apply as noted below)
Location: Madison Heights, MI
Type: Contract-to-hire (full-time)
Work setting: On-site
Schedule: Rotating between 1st shift (7:00 AM–3:30 PM) and 2nd shift (1:30 PM–10:00 PM), with every other weekend and rotating holidays
Job Summary
We’re hiring an LTC Closed Door Pharmacist to support prescription dispensing and patient care services, ensure medication safety and compliance, and oversee pharmacy operations and staff in a long-term care/closed-door pharmacy setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications and ensure therapies are appropriate and compliant
- Counsel on medication use, dosing, side effects, storage, and interactions as needed
- Maintain accurate, confidential patient records and pharmacy files
- Identify medication-related issues and communicate effectively with physicians and other healthcare practitioners
- Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following proper procedures
- Supervise pharmacy staff (technicians/clerks) and support daily workflow
- Maintain appropriate inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies
Requirements
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required
- Active Pharmacist license in the state of practice (State Board of Pharmacy)
Shift Differentials / Premium Pay (per job details)
- 2nd shift differential: $2.50/hr
- 3rd shift differential: $6.00/hr
- Overtime (OT): (Average of Shift 1–3 straight time) × 1.5
- Double time (DT): (Average of Shift 1–3 straight time) × 2
