About the Role:
As a Mechanic based in the field, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of diesel trucks and related heavy machinery. Your expertise will be essential in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining complex diesel engines, braking systems, and fuel systems to minimize downtime and maximize operational performance. You will work closely with a team of technicians and service personnel to deliver high-quality mechanical solutions that meet industry standards and client expectations. This role demands a thorough understanding of hydraulics, alternators, and gasket systems to address a wide range of mechanical issues effectively. Ultimately, your contributions will support the seamless operation of our fleet and equipment, directly impacting the success of our transportation and logistics services.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent with completion of a formal diesel mechanic training program.
- Proven experience working with diesel engines, braking systems, and fuel systems in a professional setting.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics and diesel truck mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to work safely in a workshop environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification from a recognized body such as ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) in diesel mechanics.
- Experience with electronic diagnostic equipment and computerized repair systems.
- Familiarity with environmental and safety regulations related to diesel engine maintenance.
- Previous experience working in a fleet maintenance or heavy equipment repair facility.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel engines, braking systems, and fuel systems of diesel trucks and heavy equipment.
- Maintain and service hydraulic systems to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Replace and repair gaskets, alternators, and other mechanical components as needed to prevent equipment failure.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems and develop effective repair strategies.
- Document all maintenance and repair work accurately to maintain service records and comply with regulatory requirements.
