Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
- Current licensure as a School Social Worker or eligibility to obtain appropriate credentials in Connecticut
- Experience working with elementary-aged children in school or similar settings
- Strong understanding of child development, behavioral interventions, and special education processes
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to connect with diverse populations and adapt interventions to individual needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct social, emotional, and behavioral support to elementary students through individual and group counseling
- Conduct assessments to identify student needs and develop effective intervention plans
- Partner with families, teachers, and administrators to promote student well-being and academic success
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute expertise regarding student supports
- Lead crisis prevention and intervention efforts, as needed
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation according to district guidelines and professional standards
