Legal Specialist, Immigration
(Senior Immigration Paralegal / Business Immigration Paralegal, Global Mobility)

A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a Legal Specialist, Immigration (Senior Immigration Paralegal) to support a sophisticated business immigration practice. This is a highly client-facing role for an experienced professional who can manage cases end-to-end, serve as a key team resource, and help support and mentor junior staff.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and file employment-based visa petitions, including H-1B, L-1, O-1, TN, E-1/E-2, and other visa categories
• Prepare PERM labor certification matters
• Manage a broad global visa program
• Coordinate with global mobility vendors to support visa and work permit applications in foreign jurisdictions
• Keep the team informed of global immigration updates and government changes
• Prepare and file business and employment-based immigration documentation
• Communicate directly with government agencies and clients throughout the lifecycle of matters
• Own client relationships and provide a consistently high level of client service
• Troubleshoot complex case issues and work directly with clients on procedures and strategy
• Support the client team by assisting with workload management, productivity, onboarding, training, and development
• Review client-facing and internal reports to monitor case activity and new case initiations
• Assign cases to junior paralegals
• Assist with special projects and additional responsibilities as needed
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required
• 6+ years of business immigration experience in a law firm setting
• Experience with global mobility, including vendor coordination and expatriate assignments
• Outstanding case management skills
• Proven leadership ability, including the ability to train, mentor, and develop staff
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong client service mindset with a proactive, positive attitude
• Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion
• High level of integrity and professionalism
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Zoom, and the ability to learn new systems quickly
• Ability to consistently enter billable time accurately and in a timely manner, in compliance with firm policies
• Flexibility to work overtime when necessary
