SUMMARY
The Clinical Outcomes Engineer (COE) will partner closely with the Customer Success team in providing an unparalleled level of value and credibility to our nation’s largest and most complex health systems. 
As a subject matter advisor to prospective and existing clients, you will leverage deep clinical experience with provider executives and ultimately ensure the ABOUT solution delivers the expected outcomes across key operational value drivers. The Clinical Outcomes Engineer will lead the clinical components of value delivery throughout the customer journey including: Pre-Sales, Implementation, Post-Sales, and Renewals.
The Clinical Outcomes Engineer (COE) is responsible for a clear client vision supported by measurable outcomes and a roadmap of how to transform from current state to ideal future state. It is your responsibility to understand the client environment, our tools and services, and ultimately to bring that vision of value to life.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

<ul>
<li>Identifies internal and external project stakeholders, defines governance structure and establishes interaction cadence, including internal team members who will support the value delivery.</li>
<li>Defines success by establishing critical success factors and key value drivers; educates internal team members who will support value delivery (such as project management &amp; implementation).</li>
<li>Reviews client’s current state data and analyze workflows, methods, tools and opportunity areas.</li>
<li>Leads the creation of a gap analysis from current to future state, serving as the foundation for the client roadmap strategy, </li>
<li>Identifies key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting requirements; engages internal data, analytics &amp; reporting team for execution. </li>
<li>Owns the original baseline vs. current vs. projected set of client data and performance monitoring; inspects trends and any significant performance indicators (positive or negative). </li>
<li>Represents data to clients with executive level insights and recommended interventions to achieve ideal state. </li>
<li>Stays aligned to clients and works with Customer Success team to build long-term engagement plans based on client maturity vision (the next logical step in the client’s journey with ABOUT). </li>
<li>As a subject matter expert and client-facing team member, provides industry and customer insights to the product, marketing, and sales teams.</li>
<li>Travels up to 50%. </li>

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Need to Have:
<ul>
<li>5+ years of clinical or frontline healthcare system experience with direct engagement with senior level executives and/or providers.</li>
<li>Experience working in (or expert operational knowledge of) a patient flow/throughput.</li>
<li>Experience assessing provider operating models at a workflow level for improvement opportunities.</li>
</ul>
Nice to Have:
<ul>
<li>Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), clinical informatics or other relevant healthcare topic.</li>
<li>Experience working with at least two electronic health record (EHR) systems (Epic, Cerner, Meditech, etc.) and hospital administrators (CMO, CNO, ED Director, etc.).</li>
<li>Active or expired Registered Nurse (RN) license. </li>
</ul>

<li>Project management programs, principles and practices. </li>
<li>Change management programs, principles and practices. </li>
<li>Methods and approaches to analyze and improve health care operations. </li>
<li>Advanced understanding of applicable health care laws, codes and regulations.</li>
<li>Methods to communicate with colleagues and clients to ensure the highest level of service and effectiveness. </li>
<li>Correct business English, including spelling, grammar and punctuation. </li>
</ul>

<li>Leveraging a strong business acumen to discover improvement opportunities for the client; able to educate them on suggested interventions to enhance their outcomes. </li>
<li>Documenting and reporting on outcomes in a digestible, quantitative fashion that resonates with health care executives. </li>
<li>Training others in policies and procedures related to delivering client outcomes. </li>
<li>Managing projects, timelines and deliverables. </li>
<li>Operating effectively in a both a team and individual contributor environment. </li>
<li>Interpreting, applying and explaining applicable laws, codes and regulations. </li>
<li>Using initiative and independent judgment within established department guidelines. </li>
<li>Contributing effectively to the accomplishment of team or work unit goals, objectives and activities. </li>

This role may involve work on federal government contracts that require additional federal background investigations, training, and federal badging. As such, you will may required to submit personal information to the government and be fingerprinted and photographed at your local Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center.
