Description
Our ABA department is growing, and we would love to have you join us! We are a clinic-based pediatric facility that provides high-quality ABA therapy to clients with challenging behavior. Therapists in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) aim to reduce challenging behaviors and teach replacement skills to clients with autism spectrum disorders under the direct supervision of BCBAs. Board Certified Behavior Analysis (BCBAs) are masters-level clinicians that complete initial assessments, design treatment protocols, and provide ongoing training to behavior technicians throughout a client's therapy journey.

Our Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) provide direct therapy to children using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to improve the lives of children and their families. A day in the life of an RBT might look like: 
<ul>
<li>Consistent, block scheduling that allows you to see 2-3 clients per day with no more than 2.5 hours with each client </li>
<li>1 hour lunch and 1 hour of “documentation” time daily for full-time staff</li>
<li>Implement therapy with a wide range of clients, typically aged 3-16 in 1:1, group, home, or community settings </li>
<li>Teach your clients important skills including ready-to-learn, play, functional living, communication and social skills</li>
<li>Follow detailed behavior intervention plans written by board-certified behavior analysts (BCBAs) to help reduce challenging behavior and increase replacement skills </li>
<li>Collect data on the programs and behavior plans implemented with your clients in order to assist with evidence-based decision-making </li>
<li>Create materials for clients as needed</li>
<li>Communicate with families before and after therapy sessions</li>
</ul>
Upon hiring, an RBT certification is not necessary. Training via online video modules, role-playing with other RBTs, and hands-on implementation with the assistance of our BCBAs is provided at the onset of the position, and new employees are compensated for their training time. Easterseals also covers the certification exam cost (one-time) and annual renewal costs.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Support a Student with Special Needs throughout the School Day

<li>Assist the student with participating in lessons, daily activities, and assessments</li>
<li>Support the student with daily living activities (e.g. eating and toileting,) as needed </li>
<li>Facilitate independent work with materials in the inclusion environment</li>
<li>Teach lessons under the direction of the lead teacher and the special education teacher in the resource room</li>
<li>Implement prescribed behavioral strategies and positive behavior support in all settings</li>
<li>Accompany and assist students during related service sessions (speech therapy, occupational therapy, etc).</li>
<li>De-escalate students and use counseling skills</li>

Collaborate with Teaching Team and Special Education Team
<ul>
<li>Collaborate with the Lead Teacher and the Special Education Coordinators in the planning and management of lessons and work that the student will be done independently and with support</li>
<li>Provide regular communication about students’ development to the lead teacher</li>
<li>Collaborate with the Special Education Coordinator and the Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) provider to implement ABA within the classroom setting. This includes planning for: classroom environment, natural environment teaching, instruction, discrete trial instruction, behavior management strategies, and reinforcement systems</li>
<li>Learn about writing IEP goals, progress summaries and report cards</li>
</ul>
Assist in Data Collection and Record Keeping

<li>Participate in all training related to data collection and assessment</li>
<li>Gather written observations for Teaching Strategies GOLD (and any other assessments) as requested by the lead teacher</li>

Dedicated Aide Requirements:

Summary 
The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) position is one of the most important roles within our organization!  As an RBT, you will implement your patient’s individualized program written by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), you will help your patient learn new skills that are truly beneficial to them and their family.  Some of the targets we work on are social, communication, vocational, and life skills. We support patients from two years old to young adults. Services are implemented in the most appropriate setting for the patient and can include the therapy center, home, school, workplace, and/or other community-based setting. Work Environment
Position operates in a clinical environment. This role routinely uses standard office and audiovisual equipment. Position may also operate at offsite locations including a patient’s home, school, or place of employment. This role will be expected to work at multiple sites with multiple patients. Overview
Employed by PAGNY for NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, located in the Bronx, accommodates more than 325,000 outpatient visits, more than 100,000 emergency room visits and more than 20,000 inpatient admissions annually. The hospital is renowned for The Trauma Center, staffed to treat any traumatic injury or illness, the fully accredited Breast Health Center, and The Burn Center, with more than 40 years of work in burn care. The hospital also serves patients of many other needs. The hospital maintains an academic affiliation with Albert Einstein Medical College of Yeshiva University.

Responsibilities
Under the guidance and/or supervision of a supervisor, the Senior Occupational Therapist is responsible for administering occupational therapy techniques in the hospital setting.
This is a Part time senior Occupational Therapist position. The position will be 2 days a week with choice of establishing a schedule on Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Mondays. Must have an interest in treating patients on bedside and or acute rehab occupational therapy service.
