Position Objective:
The Merchandiser is responsible for ensuring that all product merchandising within each assigned account meets the standards of Allstate Beverage Company.
Description of Physical Tasks:
Keep shelves and vendors clean. Place product on hand truck or dolly (approximately 20 to 50 lbs per case). Pushes/pulls hand truck to machine or shelves and loads appropriate product. Climbing in and out of vehicle and proper lifting techniques.
Responsibilities Include:

<li>Must work schedule set by Manager.</li>
<li>Have a working knowledge of all assigned sales routes as a Salesperson in training and, if necessary, fill in during Salesperson sick and vacation times.</li>
<li>Conduct a complete merchandising call on all assigned accounts on the proper day and in the established sequence.</li>
<li>Merchandise all products in accordance with the standards of ABC at each assigned account. </li>
<li>Build, merchandise and sign displays as directed by the manager.</li>
<li>Fill and merchandise the complete product line including all coolers, shelves and displays. This includes front facing packages.</li>
<li>Ensure all paper and permanent Point of Sale is used in the proper manner and quantity.</li>
<li>When necessary call back on accounts to assist or complete the merchandising of delivered product.</li>
<li>Complete all the special attention items to the Salesperson(s) or General Manager have identified in the account.</li>
<li>Maintain a positive working relationship with the owners, managers and employees of the accounts you merchandise.</li>
<li>Be aware of all opportunities to increase sales in your assigned accounts</li>
<li>Check and note pricing on all competitive products in each account; report variances to the General Manager.</li>
<li>Work with your assigned account to improve your shelf position within their cooler and the placement of floor displays.</li>
<li>Demonstrate a sincere interest in the business success of each account.</li>
<li>Attend all safety and driver’s meetings, as well as sales meetings while covering a sales route.</li>

<li>Properly operate, protect from damage, and return all equipment that has been issued to you (i.e. radios, hand trucks, vehicles, etc.).</li>
<li>Conduct all your activities within the guidelines of all company policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Report immediately to your Manager of any traffic violations, on or off duty that may affect your insurability.</li>
<li>Conduct all of your activities in accordance to the local, state and federal liquor control regulations.</li>
<li>Report all accidents and injuries immediately to the Manager.</li>

DESCRIPTION:
To contribute to Eagle Rock area sales objectives by merchandising, servicing, developing your accounts and successfully completing your other related duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

<li>Maintain and increase shelf facings for all products according to Company standards</li>
<li>Clean shelving, rotate products and price all packages as necessary</li>
<li>Display all your products by brand. Utilize Point-of-Sale materials (i.e. shelf talkers, posters, carton stuffers, bottle collars, etc.) to stimulate sales</li>
<li>Build, merchandise and maintain all secondary and promotional displays (i.e., remove cartons from shell, cut cases, display Point-of –Sales, post prices, etc.)</li>
<li>Merchandise and stock all coolers if needed to effectively sell the product</li>
<li>Call on each account as scheduled. (Notify Team Leader of any accounts you are unable to service as scheduled)</li>
<li>Create, develop, and maintain goodwill in every account</li>
<li>Drive company vehicle safely, courteously, and obey all traffic regulations</li>
<li>Keep company vehicle neat and clean at all times</li>
<li>Report all vehicle damage and required maintenance to the garage and supervisor</li>
<li>Cooperate with Pre-Sell Representative and Merchandiser to ensure maximum efficiency and service of the bulk system</li>

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be a high school graduate. College experience is desirable. A Merchandiser must be able to adhere to the Eagle Rock Distributing Company Rotation Policy and be able to read code dates on all master cases, cartons, cans, bottle labels and kegs. A merchandiser should be aware of stock rotation procedures when placing product in store rooms, coolers, shelves and displays as well as the understanding of the basic brewing process, methods, ingredients, and advantages of the products in order to talk intelligently to retailers and consumers while selling and promoting the brands. Merchandisers are responsible for representing the company at all times in a professional manner and developing sound salesmanship techniques for implementing business at the retail level.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to reach, pull, twist, bend, stoop to move cases of beer. Must be able to check code dates accurately, talk and hear to communicate with retailers and co-workers. May require sitting or standing for extended periods. Occasionally requires the ability to lift over 70 lbs. Must be capable of pushing or pulling loaded carts (weighing approximately 300 lbs)
Environmental Conditions &amp; Temperament
<ul>
<li>Job duties are performed inside and outside retail buildings.</li>
<li>Exposure to outside weather, walk-in cooler temperatures, riding in semi-truck, exposure to fumes, vibrations and noise levels.</li>

Thorough product and package knowledge is essential. A safe driving record is also required. Previous beverage, beer or route sales experience is preferred.
