JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

<li>Knowledge of procedures and techniques used in highway and bridge inspection.</li>
<li>Knowledge of procedures and techniques used in performing tests on construction materials.</li>
<li>Knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in the collection/evaluation of technical data.</li>
<li>Ability to read and interpret construction codes, plans, standards, and specifications.</li>

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

<li>Conduct materials tests to assure all materials meet requirements set forth in the Materials Manual of Instructions, ensure work zones and other safety requirements and environmental permit requirements are met, and ensure that utility work is documented accurately through daily reports.</li>

Requirements:

Summit Design and Engineering Services is seeking Transportation Construction Inspectors from Trainees to Level IV to work with our Construction Engineering Inspection team on highway construction projects in the Raleigh area and throughout North Carolina.
Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Assist in the inspection of various roadways and structures construction operations and perform a variety of calculations and computations with supervision.</li>
<li>Perform materials sampling and testing.</li>
<li>Collect materials weigh tickets and conduct various roadway tests to ensure materials delivered to project meets specifications and are placed in accordance with standard specification.</li>
<li>Monitor and perform all types of inspection work on complex and routine highway projects.</li>
<li>Perform and maintain daily record keeping of project activities and prepare monthly project estimates.</li>
