PRINCIPAL PURPOSE OF JOB:&nbsp; The Extension Associate – Forestry and Invasive Plant position in the Forestry and Natural Resources program will support invasive plant management efforts in the Franklin, Owen, and Henry County region of Kentucky. 
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; This position will coordinate the joint efforts of Kentucky State University (KSU), the Frankfort/Franklin County Joint Task Force on Invasives, and related initiatives to improve natural lands in the target region. These efforts include cooperative invasive plant management, tracking invasive plant infestations, training and education events, and pursuit of funding opportunities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Overview:
Cogeneration plant with gas turbine driven generators providing electricity to lease operations and the grid. &nbsp;Gas turbine units are two LM2500’s. &nbsp;Both units have Power Purchase Agreements in place. &nbsp;In addition to the power generation, waste heat recovery units provide steam to leases for enhanced heavy oil recovery. &nbsp;The Cogeneration Operators are responsible for performing routine operations, inspections and maintenance of all equipment and systems located within the plant.

 Roles &amp; Responsibilities:

We are excited to be searching for a Power Plant Shift Supervisor/Generation Dispatcher at our Nikiski Facility. This is a rotating work schedule with one week on and one week off with alternating day shift one week and night shift the next work week. The week-long shift is divided into two work weeks. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Scrubgrass Generating Plant is located in Kennerdell, Venango County, Pennsylvania. The facility is designed to convert the bituminous mining refuse (GOB) left over from decades of coal mining in the region into energy. Employing state-of-the art circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boiler technology, the facility is able to efficiently burn low BTU refuse in an environmentally safe and beneficial manner. Scrubgrass produces approximately 85 megawatts of electricity-enough for about 80,000 homes. GENERAL SUMMARY The primary role of the Control Room Operator is to operate the plant from the distributed control system while ensuring that all plant equipment is operated within design parameters. Monitors plant operations, making adjustments as needed to optimize performance. Monitor the operations of emissions control equipment and adjust to meet State and Federal permits. Power Plant Electricians will perform electrical maintenance or construction work, or any combination thereof, under the supervision of the Electrician Foreman, PM Coordinator, or Facilities Maintenance Supervisor. Tasking is based on employee’s prior work experience and ASC schedule requirements.
 
Position Responsibilities (not all inclusive):
• Maintains a safe workplace program and ensures that safety is the highest priority in the workplace. • Complies with all ASC Environmental, Safety and Health (ESH), Waste Management and Quality Assurance requirements, goals, policies and procedures. Provides documentation to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate and legal documentation. • Performs preventive maintenance and repair on all switchgear control circuits, generators, contactors and relays in accordance with procedures and manufacturers’ recommendations. • Tests and repairs all safety circuits in generator and control units. • Inspects electrical power generation systems to ensure that no faults exist. • Monitors operation of all power generation electrical components to ensure proper operation. • Monitors loading; operates power generation equipment in an efficient and economical manner. • Completes maintenance records and maintains operating logbooks as required; documents all maintenance performed. • Coordinates with the Utilities Supervisor or their on-ice representative to order repair and/or spare parts, maintenance parts, assemblies, tools and consumables. • Advises the Utilities Supervisor or their on-ice representative the status of power production stock, equipment and systems. • Maintains control of Power Plant Electrician's tools and manuals. • Maintains inventory accuracy at 98% or better. • Trains Power Plant Operators and Mechanics on Power Plant operation and equipment as directed. • Ability to cover Power Plant Operator shift / rounds as required. • Supports the achievement of metrics, whether metrics are directly or indirectly, affected by this position’s work activities. • Works to achieve goals and contractual commitments. • Troubleshoots and repairs electrical problems. • Willingness to work a rotating shift: day, swing or night shift. • Responds to power outages and equipment failures as required. • Evaluates job hazards and communicates information to staff verbally and in writing through various venues, including weekly and/or daily crew meetings. • Interprets project tasking utilizing design drawings, specifications and diagrams. • Communicates professionally, both orally and in writing, with their superiors and peers as needed to relay information they need in order to be successful in their jobs. This includes, but is not limited to, staff meetings, performance appraisals, job requirements, division metrics, projects, Quality Standard Procedures, and safety practices. • May be required to work outside on various jobsites in extreme cold weather and environmentally challenging conditions. • Interacts with other partner companies, the National Science Foundation, military and other agency officials, both over the telephone and in person. Is kind, courteous, cooperative and professional at all times. • Participate in dormitory chores while deployed to Antarctica. • Performs other duties as required.
Required Education, Experience, Certificates and Licenses: • High School diploma or GED • A current Journeyman Electrician license, a current Master Electrician license, or equivalent Union membership in good standing. A Journeyman license requiring less than 8,000 hours or of the Residential type shall not be considered. • Minimum four years (8,000 Hours) documented experience in all phases of electrical work, with at least 2 of those years being in power distribution wiring, directly related power plant/electrical switchgear and control panel maintenance and repair. 
Expected Skills and Competencies: • Ability to read design drawings and wiring diagrams is required. • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to handle multiple tasks at once is required. • Thorough knowledge of the methods, hazards, and safety precautions related to diesel engines and diesel engine driven electric generators is required. • Ability to maintain a professional attitude and to work efficiently in a stressful environment is required. • Working comprehension of electrical distribution, control panels and medium voltage switchgear. • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
Preferred: • Previous experience with remote Polar Logistics operations is preferred. • Experience working with AC and DC voltages from 12 up to 4160 is preferred. • Mechanical, construction, or other industrial experience is preferred.
Physical and/or Other Requirements: • Willingness and ability to deploy to Antarctica for extended periods • Successful completion of Medical and Dental examinations required by the NSF for deployment to Antarctica • Successful completion of drug screening and background check required by employer • Successful completion of Federal Background Check required by the NSF • Must be willing and able to lift and move items, parts, assemblies, and equipment up to the safety regulation maximum as required by the position. • Must be willing and able to perform physical activities including heavy lifting, climbing in and out of equipment, crawling, and working outdoors in extreme cold as required by the position. • Must participate in community programs, such as “house-mouse” (chores), “daisy-picking” (cleaning-up around the station), recycling efforts &amp; safety objectives. • Valid Driver’s License issued in the United States • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.

This position will be responsible for bi-monthly hydro plant visits to monitor the facilities and record information. Hiilangaay Hydroelectric facility is a remote site that can only be accessed by float plane, helicopter and marine vessel. Must be willing to work flexible hours sometimes with short notice. Overview: We have two Lead Operator openings (also known as Shift Supervisors) for a unionized power generation facility. This leadership role manages day-to-day operations, directs a team of Plant Operators, and ensures safety, environmental compliance, and optimal plant performance. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you’ll play a key role in meeting revenue, safety, and reliability goals.
Key Responsibilities:
