UHealthSolutions, Inc. is seeking to hire a Nuclear Medicine Technologist within The Federal Medical Center in Butner, NC. FMC Butner is a United States federal prison in North Carolina for male inmates of all security levels who have special health needs. It is part of the Butner Federal Correctional Complex (FCC Butner) and is operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), a division of the United States Department of Justice. It is located near the Research Triangle area of Durham, Raleigh and Chapel Hill.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Prepare, administer, and measure radioactive isotopes in therapeutic, diagnostic, and tracer studies using a variety of radioscope equipment. Prepare stock solutions of radioactive materials and calculate does to be administered by radiologist. Subject patients to radiation. Execute blood volume, red call survival, and fat absorption studies following standard laboratory techniques.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

Ensures that images and records are properly completed with patient identification data and appropriate labeling. Utilizes technical knowledge and skills to perform procedures accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with age specific criteria. Completes exam charges and image documentation and forwards to radiologist in a timely manner. Administers intravenous injections of contrast material as appropriate, observes patients for adverse reactions. 4. Job Performance May Include: Monitors and trains students in all areas of current competencies. Assists in the orientation and training of new staff. Leads the work of technologists ensuring that procedures are performed according to standards. Participates in the modality specific QA/QC program and ensures compliance with regulations. Participates in various accreditation processes as directed.

Qualifications
Experience and Education
Graduate from an accredited school of nuclear medicine technology, Bachelor’s degree preferred. Licensed as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in either the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB); and must be certified by the Texas Department of Health as a CMRT Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist.  Certified by Texas Medical Board (TMB), and CPR Certified.  Two (2) years’ experience in nuclear medicine preferred; clinical training at UTSW may be considered as experience.
