The News &amp; Content unit of the University of Virginia’s <a href="https://communications.virginia.edu/" target="_blank">Office of Communications</a> seeks a Senior Editor to help us tell the dynamic story of UVA and to advance its strategic priorities through content that engages with and grows a multitude of audiences.
This position would be ideal for a seasoned, mature editor at a daily newspaper, magazine or online publication with significant deadline experience and a track record of working with writers to generate compelling stories and improve copy.
The Senior Editor, reporting to the UVA Today Managing Editor, will oversee several direct reports; edit copy for grammar, accuracy, and adherence to Associated Press and local style; and research and write stories as needed. The ideal candidate will be a sharp-eyed, detail-focused journalist who efficiently shepherds daily stories through the editing process while also taking the time to help writers improve their craft. Responsibilities:

<li>Edit daily stories for the University’s news outlets to ensure UVA Today’s writing is concise, compelling, and accurate.</li>

Area of expertise may range from medieval to contemporary, with specialty and chronological focus open. The APFF’s primary responsibility will be to serve as Managing Editor for the Journal of Spanish Cultural Studies with an additional 1:1 course load teaching Spanish language courses in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese. You will edit each line of text, checking for grammar, style, spelling, and factual errors. You will also ensure that all agreed MS Word styles are applied accurately to the manuscript.
 
2. Review and approve page proofs and digital releases — You will evaluate materials as they move through the different stages of development to ensure they are ready to publish. This stage is more focused on ensuring the quality of the final product, as well as interplay between text and graphic elements. You will ensure the look, feel, accuracy, and function of these products meets NCCER's standards. This includes quality checks on PDF proofs, reviewing digital courses before they go live, and assessing a range of other products to move them through the development cycle to completion. 
 
3. Communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams — In this role, you will work closely and communicate regularly with technical writers, designers, project managers, artists, and other editors to ensure quality and efficiency of all external-facing materials. With so many key players and moving parts, effective communication and collaboration with both in-house and remote colleagues will be essential to project success. 
 
4. Contribute to editorial processes and decisions — You will work with lead editors and/or the managing editor to help refine and enhance editorial processes and contribute to style guide updates as needed. As part of a collaborative environment, your perspective will be invaluable to ensuring consistency, efficiency, and quality across all products. 
 
5. Maintain efficient workflows and meet deadlines — You will be responsible for tracking your own time and tasks to ensure completion and delivery of files in a timely manner. Loudr is searching for a talented and experienced Video Editor to join our team. The Video Editor will be responsible for editing and post-production tasks to create compelling and engaging video content that aligns with our clients' objectives and creative vision.
 
Key responsibilities include performing video editing tasks, applying advanced color correction and visual effects, managing media assets, coordinating with team members, conducting quality control checks, and providing mentorship to junior editors. Responsibilities:

<li>Video &amp; Post-Production Editing (brand visuals, voice, &amp; narrative)

<li>Review shooting script and raw material to create a shot decision list based on scenes value and contribution to continuity</li>
<li>Perform advanced-level video editing tasks, including cutting, trimming, and sequencing footage to create a coherent narrative</li>
<li>Apply advanced color-correction and/or color grading, audio enhancements, and visual effects to enhance the overall quality of the video</li>

Required Skills &amp; Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>3 years of experience in video editing (this is not a junior position).</li>
<li>Bachelor's degree in film or video production or a related field is preferred.</li>
<li>Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in storytelling, motion graphics design, animation and video production. 3D animation and graphic design work is a plus.</li>
<li>Proficient in video editing and motion graphics software such as After Effects, Premiere Pro, Adobe Audition, and Cinema 4D.</li>
<li>Advanced knowledge of graphic design principles and experience with graphic design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is preferred.</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of video production equipment and the pre-production process</li>
<li>Excellent communication and collaboration skills</li>
<li>Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment</li>
<li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team</li>
<li>Agency experience or a background in marketing and/or advertising is preferred but not required.</li>
