JOB TITLE: TECHNICAL WRITER I 
DEPARTMENT: QUALITY ASSURANCE 
REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF QUALITY ASSURANCE 
CLASSIFICATION: EXEMPT 
PRIMARY FUNCTION 
 The Technical Writer will play a critical role ensuring clear and concise documentation across multiple departments, including Engineering, Project Management, Operations, and Production. This role involves gatherings, analyzing, and translating complex technical information into user-friendly materials that meet Platform’s and industry standards. 
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
<ul>
<li>Create, review, and maintain technical documentation such as user manuals, specifications, reports, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and other related materials. Translate complex engineering and technical concepts into clear, concise, and understandable documentations for a variety of audiences </li>
<li>Applies communication and interviewing skills to collect needed information from internal and external personnel to support writing activities</li>
<li>Conducts research if needed on RFP technical/functional areas to gain better understanding of Materials to be written</li>
<li>Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop technical specifications, standard operating procedures, end-user installation and operation manuals, and product insert sheets. </li>
<li>Develop and maintain a content directory for documentation, ensuring version control, accessibility, and regular updates to keep documentation accurate and current</li>
<li>Ensure that written materials are grammatically correct and maintain a consistent tone or voice</li>
<li>Identify and implement best practices to streamline documentation processes and improved efficiency and usability </li>
<li>Seeks feedback from stakeholders to refine and improve documentation quality.</li>
<li>Performs other duties as are necessary and/or required</li>
</ul>
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 
<ul>
<li>Bachelor's degree in communications, STEM, Writing &amp; Rhetoric, or a related field preferred and 0-2 years of relevant experience or an Associate's degree and 2 years of relevant experience or a combination of experience equivalent to 4 years may be considered in lieu of education.</li>
<li>Excellent written, editing, and oral communication skills, example writing will be requested from candidates</li>
<li>Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and independently (self-starter) </li>
<li>Ability and willingness to work under tight deadlines and support multiple pursuits concurrently</li>
<li>Basic understanding of engineering, quality assurance, and project management concepts</li>
<li>Ability to create vector graphics to supplement writing instructions.</li>
<li>Ability to synthesize complex technical concepts into clear, actionable content </li>

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Job DescriptionSalary: $29.04 /hour 
Job Summary:
The grant writer will be responsible for creating written proposals to secure funding from various sources, such as government agencies, foundations, corporations, or nonprofit organizations. The primary responsibility for this position is to develop persuasive grant proposals that effectively communicate the goals, objectives, and impact of a project or program to potential funders. This position will require you to work alongside directors, project managers, and other staff to create work plans and budgets for grant submissions with the Seneca Nation Departments.
 
Qualifications and Requirements:
A bachelors degree in a relevant field such as English, Communications, Nonprofit management, or a related discipline or a written sample of work can be submitted in lieu of a B.A. Preferred two to three years of related grant writing or budgeting experience. Excellent research and analytical skills to identify funding opportunities and evaluate their alignment with organizational goals. Proficiency in grant writing techniques, including proposal development, budgeting, and reporting. Attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines consistently. Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel to both territories when necessary. Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Must have competent technological skills and specifically be able to work with MS Office 365 Suite for editing and productivity. Must have the ability to work in a diverse cultural environment. Knowledge of Seneca customs, traditions, and practices is helpful. Strong organizational skills and the ability to understand and manage high-profile, sensitive, or controversial projects. Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work independently. Valid NYS Drivers License.
