 Education and Experience:
<ul>
<li>Graduation from an ABET accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in civil/transportation engineering or a closely related field; and</li>
<li>Three&nbsp;or more&nbsp;years of full-time experience working with a state or local government or a private firm directly involved in land use and/or transportation planning; and</li>
<li>Familiarity with MPO work processes and deliverable products along with corresponding federal regulations.</li>
</ul>
 Preferred qualification: Registration as a Professional Engineer in the state of N.C. or certification by the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP). Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of:

<li>GIS applications, including ESRI's suite of software for GIS.</li>

SUMMARY
The Transportation Manager oversees the daily operations and strategic direction of the agency's transportation services. This role ensures safe, reliable, and customer-centered transportation for an agency that serves older adults in Clark County. The Transportation Manager supervises and supports drivers and transportation staff, manages scheduling and dispatch, maintains fleet readiness, ensures accurate reporting and billing, manages compliance and grant requirements, and represents the agency in community partnerships and transportation coalitions.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Daily Operations &amp; Service Delivery
<ul>
<li>Manage the day-to-day transportation program, including call intake, ride scheduling, and dispatching using agency scheduling/dispatch software.</li>
<li>Monitor schedules and communicate route changes to drivers.</li>
<li>Ensure excellent customer service in every client interaction.</li>
</ul>
Staff Supervision &amp; Workforce Development
<ul>
<li>Recruit, train, coach, and support drivers and transportation staff.</li>
<li>Maintain required training schedules, certifications, and performance documentation.</li>
<li>Foster a positive, collaborative, and mission-driven team culture.</li>

Fleet &amp; Safety Oversight

<li>Ensure all vehicles are safe, well-maintained, and scheduled for inspections and repairs.</li>

Reporting, Compliance &amp; Grants

<li>Prepare service reports, billing reports, and data for internal and external stakeholders.</li>
<li>Assist with ODOT transportation grant applications and ensure ongoing grant compliance.</li>
<li>Participate in required QA processes and maintain accurate records.</li>

Community Relations &amp; Agency Engagement

<li>Represent the agency at transportation coalitions, advisory committees, and community meetings.</li>
<li>Build and maintain strong partnerships with community organizations.</li>
<li>Promote agency services and support agency-wide strategic initiatives.</li>

 QUALIFICATIONS
<ul>
<li>Valid driver's license required.</li>
<li>High School Diploma or equivalent, Associate's Degree preferred.</li>
<li>3-5 years experience in a supervisory position.</li>
<li>Strong commitment to exceptional customer service.</li>
<li>Experience with transportation dispatch and scheduling systems preferred.</li>
<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard office procedures.</li>
<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li>
<li>Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.</li>
<li>Knowledge of Springfield, Clark County, and surrounding roadways.</li>
