DSCA Instructors assist military and government Service personnel in the planning, coordination, synchronization and execution of live, virtual and constructive training, classroom training events as well as individual and collective training support programs designed to prepare key leaders, individuals, units, and staff/headquarters elements to perform their mission, successfully plan, coordinate, and execute DSCA operations according to established principles. Personnel shall have the ability to use standard systems employed in the development of HD and DSCA missions, which includes CRE missions, to include Google Earth and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel) products. 
Duties:

<li>Responsible for student registration, scheduling and newsletter</li>
<li>Have data management skills and experience
<ul>
<li>Products shall be created using Microsoft Office products to include Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. </li>

<li>Graduate all successful Army students in Army Training Requirement and Resource System (ATRRS), database. Provide graduation documents/course completion certificates to non-Army students to document completion to their agencies.</li>
<li>Attend local (Ft. Sam Houston, TX) and TDY DSCA courses to meet students, confirm course registration and assist students with course administration</li>
<li>Assist Government Course Coordinator to schedule and coordinate classroom facilities.</li>
<li>Teach students how to plan and execute DSCA response operations using methods that include classroom lecture, small group discussion, case studies, and table-top exercises.

<li>Develop and use course materials as lesson plans, student handouts and instructor books, and provide these lesson plans and handouts to the Government upon each revision</li>

<li>Maintain concurrency of the Government provided programs of instruction throughout the period of performance and adapt the POIs to address any changes in TLO and ELO documents as furnished by USNORTHCOM, Department of the Army and USARNORTH</li>

What You'll Do:

<li>Teach Engaging Curriculum: Use company-created curriculum and materials designed for advanced students to lead small classes in math.</li>
<li>Engage Students: Actively involve students in each class or student-led learning. </li>
<li>Classroom Management: Expertly manage up to 16 students. </li>
<li>Grade &amp; Provide Feedback: Provide feedback on tests.</li>
<li>Build Relationships: Connect with students and families to make a lasting impact on their educational journey.</li>
<li>Inspire Learning: Encourage a love for learning and critical thinking in math.</li>
</ul>
Skills and Experience Requirements:
<ul>
<li>A Bachelor's degree is required. </li>
<li>A Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related or educational field is strongly preferred. </li>
<li>Strong content knowledge in math. </li>
<li>Experience teaching or tutoring students. </li>
<li>Classroom teaching experience at the K-12 level is preferred. </li>

<li>A formal teaching credential is not required for this position. </li>

Schedule:
<ul>
<li>AoPS Academy is an on-site afterschool program with classes in the evenings and on weekends. Candidates must be available to teach during weekday after-school hours (as early as 4pm) and/or on weekends.</li>
<li>This position requires a minimum initial commitment of about 3 hours per week for each assigned class. </li>
<li>Each course meets once per week for 1 hour 45 minutes. </li>

<li>This is an in-person position at our San Diego location.</li>
<li>Candidates must be located in San Diego, CA or the greater area and must be able to commute to our campus. </li>

Since 1993, AoPS has prepared hundreds of thousands of students for college and career success through engaging curriculum, expert online instruction, and local, in-person academies. AoPS Academy is a program of Art of Problem Solving, a global leader in K–12 advanced education. AoPS Academy brings the AoPS methodology to small live physical and virtual classrooms. We offer a world-class curriculum in math, science, and language arts for students in grades 1-12, creating an environment where exploration meets challenge, right in your local neighborhood. Students learn in small classes led by accomplished instructors and collaborate with a peer group who share their passion for learning. <li>Experience working with students grades k-12 preferred</li>
<li>Exceptional math competency through at least Algebra II, Pre-Calculus/Calculus preferred</li>
