OVERVIEW
The Plant Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment across all areas of the Suntado facility. This role ensures the reliable and safe operation of plant machinery, power distribution, lighting, and control systems in support of production, utilities, and site infrastructure. Working both independently and as part of the broader technical team, the Plant Electrician minimizes downtime and supports continuous improvement in a regulated, food-grade environment. This position shares responsibility for maintaining Suntado’s food safety, quality and legality program under the BRC guidelines.
You will:
<ul>
<li>Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems throughout the facility, including power distribution, motors, VFDs, PLC-controlled equipment, lighting, and associated wiring.</li>
<li>Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults using technical documentation, test equipment, and root cause analysis skills.</li>
<li>Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and corrective repairs on electrical systems and components to maximize equipment reliability.</li>
<li>Program and maintain variable frequency drives (VFDs) and motor control centers.</li>
<li>Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and P&amp;IDs.</li>
<li>Ensure all electrical work complies with NEC, NFPA-70E, OSHA, and Suntado’s safety policies, including lockout/tagout and proper PPE usage.</li>
<li>Log equipment usage, parts replacement, and maintenance tasks in the CMMS to ensure accurate recordkeeping and support robust maintenance routines.</li>
<li>Respond to plant emergencies and breakdowns to restore safe operation as quickly as possible.</li>
<li>Collaborate with other maintenance and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve cross-functional issues.</li>
<li>Support and mentor other technicians and operators in safe electrical work practices.</li>
<li>Provide support to vendors and contractors on-site for commissioning, PMs, retrofits, and other projects as needed.</li>

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

<li>Current Journeyman Electrician license (Idaho or reciprocal state) required.</li>
<li>5+ years’ experience in industrial or plant electrical work preferred, especially in food, beverage, or manufacturing environments.</li>

<li>Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA-70E, OSHA requirements, and industrial safety best practices.</li>

QUALIFICATIONS

The HCN Area Manager has the overall responsibility and accountability to provide leadership and direction for the hydrogen cyanide manufacturing unit in Memphis, TN. The HCN unit operations includes HCN production, aminonitriles production, HCN tank farm, and trade waste.
 
The position interfaces with the sodium cyanide area and other customers for coordination of production schedules and meeting customer needs. Accountable for establishing and meeting fixed cost objectives and other operations KPIs. The position has 9-10 direct reports, including the HCN Process Manager, Trade Waste Process Manager, Operations Specialist, Maintenance Coordinators, and Shift Supervisors who supervise 30-40 operators.

Scope of Work:
Provide operational support for the Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Responsibilities:
Water Plant
<ul>
<li>Control treatment plant machines and equipment to purify and clarify water for human consumption and or industrial use. </li>
<li>Operates and controls electric motors, pumps, and valves to regulate flow of raw water into treating plant and dumps specified amounts of chemicals such as chlorine, polymer, and fluoride into water, or adjusts automatic devices that admit specified amounts of chemicals into tanks to disinfect, deodorize, and clarify water. </li>
<li>Operate agitators to mix chemicals and allows impurities to settle to bottom of tank, turns valves to regulate water through filter beds to remove impurities, pumps purified water into water mains, monitors panel board and SCADA HMI and adjusts controls to regulator flow rates, loss of head pressure and water elevation and distribution of water. </li>
<li>Cleans tanks and filter beds, using backwashing (reverse flow of water), repairs and lubricates machines and equipment, using hand- and power tools </li>
<li>Tests water samples to determine acidity, color, and impurities, using colorimeter, turbidimeter, and conductivity meter. </li>
<li>Dump chemicals such as polymer into tanks to coagulate impurities and reduce acidity </li>
<li>Records data, such as residual content of chemicals, water turbidity, and water pressure. </li>
<li>May also operate portable water-purification plant to supply drinking water and purify wastewater from plant preparatory to pumping water into rivers and streams or city mains. </li>

Wastewater Plant

<li>Operate sewage treatment, sludge processing, and disposal equipment in wastewater (sewage) treatment plant to control flow and processing of sewage, monitors control panels and adjusts valves and gates manually or by remote control to regulate flow of sewage, observes variations in operating conditions and interprets meter and gauge readings, and tests results to determine load requirements. </li>
<li>Starts and stops pumps, engines, and generators to control flow of raw sewage through screening, settling, aeration, and sludge digestion processes </li>
<li>Maintain log of operations and records meter and gas readings </li>
<li>Gives directions to wastewater treatment-plant attendants and sewage-disposal workers in performing routine operations and maintenance, and may collect sewage sample, using dipper or bottle and conduct laboratory tests, using testing equipment, such as colorimeter. </li>

The purpose of this classification is to assist the Chief Operator, Water Treatment Plant position and serve as the Lead Operator for water treatment facilities in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements for the operation of water treatment facilities. Incumbents perform the most complex and specialized work tasks, under only general supervision, while exercising broader discretion and independent judgment within established guidelines.
