Job Summary 
The Building Electrical Group is responsible for all building electrical systems including lighting, fire protection and low voltage for our design-build, industrial projects. We design and build food and beverage production facilities. Our building electrical team is involved with designing the electrical systems, calculating power loads, determining, and selecting equipment sizes, and vetting and selecting suitable vendors, suppliers, and sub-contractors. The professional will have technical responsibility for scoping, performing, and delivering multiple concurrent project assignments. His/her specific responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Designing electrical systems for building power, i.e. normal, emergency, and standby power distribution systems for 208v, 480v, and medium voltage for industrial facilities. </li>
<li>Executing duties on larger projects independently </li>
<li>Client contact and Lead Engineer </li>
<li>Documenting all necessary calculations for the design such as short circuit, selective coordination, arc flash, generator sizing, steady state and transient voltage drops, load calculations, conductor sizing, raceway fills, etc. </li>
<li>Maintaining project document organization </li>
<li>Managing time and meeting commitments </li>
<li>Understanding Ohms Law, AC/DC, Electric and magnetic fields </li>
<li>Understanding power system theory – 3-phase vector math, power factor, symmetrical components </li>
<li>Understanding capacitors, inductors, and resonance </li>
<li>Designing lighting for food processing spaces, including lighting calculations for emergency and inspection lighting level needs. Coordinating fixture placement/mounting with other trades. </li>
<li>Designing fire alarm systems per NFPA 72, 101, and local building code. </li>
<li>Code expertise – NEC, NFPA 72/101/, IBC </li>
<li>Specifying means and methods </li>
<li>Specifying other common work – grounding, start-up, LV &amp; MV Cables </li>
<li>Specifying equipment </li>
<li>Designing low voltage systems such as LAN, phones, PA, Wi-Fi, access control, cameras, etc. </li>
<li>Creating power plans </li>
<li>Creating power one-line and panel schedules </li>
<li>Defining fire alarm requirements per IBC and NFPA 101 </li>
<li>Defining Low Voltage Systems </li>
<li>Reviewing scope with client – create and manage needs list </li>
<li>Producing bid documents consisting of layout drawings, one-line, riser, schedules, details, and specifications. </li>
<li>CAD – add 2D &amp; 3D devices to Xrefs </li>
<li>Procuring long lead light fixtures and power distribution equipment such as switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, transformers, MCC’s, generators, variable speed drives, and UPS’s. </li>
<li>Transformer configurations </li>
<li>Performing short circuit calculations identifying deficiencies or series ratings </li>
<li>Estimating weights of main tray/trapezes and equipment needing support </li>
<li>Assisting in managing electrical bid process for clients, observing construction, and assisting with startup. </li>
<li>Project planning and feasibility studies. </li>
<li>Actively participating in and supporting department-wide standard development, updates, and maintenance. </li>
<li>Researching electrical building/power materials and best practices </li>
<li>Supporting talent growth within our organization </li>
<li>Assisting with interviewing and hiring new team members </li>
<li>Handling complex issues and tasks with minimal supervision and advise subordinate team members on solutions to issues they encounter. </li>

Required Education Skills and Experience
<ul>
<li>Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related 4-year degree </li>
<li>8+ years of work experience in electrical systems for building power. </li>
<li>8+ years of work experience in designing lighting, fire alarm systems, and low voltage systems for building spaces, including lighting calculations, and coordinating fixture placement with trades. </li>
<li>8+ years of work experience in electrical bid documents and procuring electrical materials and equipment. </li>
<li>8+ years of work experience in AutoCAD, Revit or other related design programs. </li>
<li>Relevant experience in a manufacturing or construction setting preferred. </li>
<li>FE or PE tracked desirable. </li>
<li>Travel to customer project sites for fieldwork, review, audit, and meetings, estimated 25%.</li>

The position responsibilities include performing a variety of electrical studies that may include steady state loadflow, short circuit, transient analysis, harmonics, insulation coordination, and dynamic system response studies. We use tools such as PSS/e, PSLF, ASPEN Oneliner, PSS Cape, PSCAD, and EMTP-RV - experience in these not required - related experience in tools such as TARA, ETAP, SKM, PowerWorld, EasyPower considered applicable.
Many but not all the studies will be related to large scale (50 -2000+ MW) renewable energy projects (wind, solar, energy storage). Our team helps customers with project conceptual development, support during design, equipment selection and assistance with plant operating issues after COD. We assist with apparatus ratings and specifications development for EHV/HV/MV/LV transformers, circuit breakers, switches, cables, switchgear, inverters, wind turbines, DC and AC aux power systems, etc. 
We also provide services to large and small utility and industrial clients. These studies can involve typical transmission level load additions, long range plans, generation interconnections, black start analysis, voltage unbalance/line transposition analysis, breaker TRV assessments, insulation coordination studies, etc. We have a separate distribution planning group as well.
Minimum Requirements:

What you will do

<li>Work closely with a team of engineers to develop proven designs based on system performance and operational specifications.</li>
<li>Design, analyze, simulate, test, and document power system, conversion, distribution, or control systems products.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
<li>Work to further our department’s mastery of digital power conversion concepts and help develop related best practices.</li>
<li>Perform design work within the bounds of a given budget and schedule.</li>
<li>Present reviews of technical data to senior program or executive leadership, technical staff, and customer community. Manage related risk discussions.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Lead teams to success with schedule, budget, and technical execution</li>
<li>Engage in personal technical growth and facilitate technical growth in peers and junior engineers.&nbsp; Help to understand what opportunities are needed to mature the organization on the technical front.</li>
<li>Travel to Tewksbury, MA; Marlborough, MA; Andover, MA; Woburn, MA; and/or Pelham, NH may be required depending on the assignment.</li>

Qualifications you must have
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major.</li>
<li>Minimum 10+ years of experience in power system design, power conversion, power distribution, power sub-system design and/or control systems</li>
<li>Experience in modeling and simulation using PSPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar computer-based tools.</li>
</ul>

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. The Building Electrical Group is responsible for all building electrical systems including lighting, fire protection and low voltage for our design build, industrial projects. We design and build food and beverage production facilities. Our building electrical team is involved with designing the electrical systems, calculating power loads, determining, and selecting equipment sizes, and vetting and selecting suitable vendors, suppliers, and sub-contractors. The professional will have technical responsibility for scoping, performing, and delivering multiple concurrent project assignments. His/her specific responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
Responsibilities

<li>Designing electrical systems for building power, i.e. normal, emergency, and standby power distribution systems for 208v, 480v, and medium voltage for industrial facilities. </li>
