ABOUT THE ROLE Sentinel has an immediate opening for a self-motivated, resourceful, and well-organized candidate to join the team as a Senior Actuary with an initial focus on pricing, reinsurance, in-force management and product development of annuities and life insurance. This opening will have direct exposure to each of the group’s insurance operating companies as well as close interaction with the company’s management team. The individual will have the opportunity to participate in all aspects of the company’s actuarial functions and will work closely with leadership from the finance and insurance teams. This role offers scope for tremendous growth as A-CAP continues to grow and expand its business. This is a rare opportunity for an actuary to contribute to both new business and in-force functions within a high-growth insurance organization. WHAT YOU WILL DO:
<ul>
<li>Manage product pricing for both new &amp; in-force products and new product development projects primarily for fixed annuities and the company’s pre-need and final expense life insurance products.</li>
<li>Ensuring products are illustrated and administered correctly with testing of Illustration and administration systems</li>
<li>Product Design, Implementation, and post issue monitoring including filings with State Insurance Departments.</li>
<li>Analyzing new and existing reinsurance arrangements including pricing, relationship management, and administration</li>
<li>Monitoring the competitive environment with a focus on Fixed Annuities.</li>
<li>Price, maintain, and advise on modeling techniques (using GGY AXIS) and pricing profitability metrics to drive product decision-making.&nbsp; Setting pricing assumptions and analyzing capital usage of new products.</li>
<li>Support subsidiary insurance companies’ core actuarial functions as needed (valuation, cash flow testing, pro-forma/business planning, risk management, etc.) with opportunities to rotate through various actuarial functions on a short-term basis.</li>
<li>Other Actuarial projects as needed.</li>
<li>Opportunity to work on high-profile projects with senior decision-makers that directly drive company growth; the role will have direct exposure to Senior Management including the Head of Life and Annuities, Head of Distribution, the Chief Actuary and the Chief Financial Officer.</li>
<li>Work closely with marketing/sales, accounting, and IT/systems administration teams as well as other key stakeholders.</li>
</ul>
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, actuarial science, or related field with 5+ years of actuarial experience.</li>
<li>ASA/FSA designation.</li>
<li>Expert proficiency with MS Office Suite and GGY AXIS. Tech-savvy is a plus.</li>
<li>Experience with annuity products and relevant actuarial work (pricing, valuation, etc.).</li>
<li>Strong organizational skills and ability to communicate complex concepts in a professional and concise manner, both verbally and written.</li>
<li>Comfort with a steep learning curve and motivation to work in an opportunity-rich, dynamic environment.</li>
<li>Experience with product development &amp; reinsurance, particularly for fixed annuity products, preferred.</li>
<li>Experience with pre-need and/or final expense life insurance products, preferred. </li>
<li>US Statutory and/or GAAP financial reporting experience preferred.</li>

Your Role
As Chief Actuary, you will report to the Chief Financial Officer and drive actuarial strategy across the organization, overseeing financial risk analytics, forecasting, shared savings projections, and pricing analyses at an enterprise level. In this role, you will leverage your expertise to drive data-driven decision-making, optimize organizational efficiency, and support growth initiatives.
This will be a hands-on leadership role. The ideal candidate will be both strategic and execution-oriented, capable of building models, leading analysis, and communicating complex concepts to both internal and external stakeholders.
Primary Functions of the Chief Actuary Include:

<li>Lead and evolve the overall actuarial strategy for all program lines: ACO REACH, MSSP, Medicare Advantage, and emerging value-based care models.</li>
<li>Oversee enterprise-level financial forecasting and budgeting, new business proformas, cost modeling, reserve analysis, performance monitoring, and risk adjustment methodologies.</li>
<li>Supervise and mentor the actuarial department, building a high-performing team dedicated to precision, innovation, and impact.</li>
<li>Partner with clinical, operations, finance, and strategy teams to model care interventions, performance incentives, and shared savings opportunities.</li>
<li>Guide the development of integrated analytic tools for risk stratification, trend forecasting, and scenario planning.</li>
<li>Ensure actuarial methodologies and outputs adhere to regulatory standards, ASOPs, and AAA ethical guidelines.</li>
<li>Communicate complex models, risk assessments, and financial outlooks to executive leadership, partners, and board members.</li>
<li>Represent Honest Health as an actuarial expert in external forums, industry conferences, payer negotiations, and regulatory engagements.</li>
<li>Monitor industry trends, policy changes (particularly CMS guidance), and technical innovations to inform strategic direction.</li>

The base pay range for this role is$274,400.00 - $343,000.00. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, and organizational needs.
