The Occupational Therapist is part of a multidisciplinary team supporting deaf and hard of hearing children and their parents in a center-based EI and Preschool program. The OT at Clarke is responsible for evaluating, planning, organizing and conducting pediatric occupational therapy sessions to facilitate growth in sensory-motor, self-regulation and fine motor development and provide support to and collaboration with other professionals on each child’s team. 
 
The OT reports to the Director of Clarke School-New York. 
 
This position requires the use of clinical judgment, well developed communication skills, an understanding of Early Intervention Regulations and CPSE regulations and all related paperwork and reports and the ability to work well with coworkers and families of children. 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
<ul>
<li>Provide developmentally appropriate therapy services to children birth-5 in a school/center-based setting.</li>
<li>Conduct evaluations, determine eligibility to receive services, which include both standardized testing and structured clinical observations, typically requiring two to three hours of testing time, followed by scoring and clinical interpretation. A parent conference and a detailed assessment report are also provided for each evaluation. </li>
<li>Determine areas of concern, identify goals, and develop treatment plans.</li>
<li>Participate and collaborate with members of school wide and organization wide teams.</li>
<li>Complete all required documentation, such as daily session notes, evaluation reports, and progress reports, following Clarke’s procedures and city and state regulations.</li>
<li>Attend staff and in-service meetings, with the opportunity to occasionally lead a portion of the in-service training. </li>
<li>Provide support to other related service providers and teachers/assistants in areas that impact a child’s functioning related to OT-emotional regulation, sensory processing, fine motor skill development, etc. </li>
<li>Follow accrediting body’s guidelines for ethical and high-quality job performance. </li>
<li>Perform any other tasks as assigned by the director to support the functioning of the school.</li>

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our rehabilitation team. The OT will assess patients, develop personalized treatment plans, and provide interventions aimed at improving motor skills, coordination, and daily function. This role is essential in helping individuals regain independence and enhance their overall quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Conduct evaluations to assess patients’ functional abilities and therapy needs.</li>
<li>Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focusing on motor skills, coordination, and independence.</li>
<li>Utilize therapeutic techniques and adaptive equipment to enhance daily living skills.</li>
<li>Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, assistive devices, and strategies for improving function.</li>
<li>Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapists, speech therapists, and physicians, to ensure comprehensive patient care.</li>
<li>Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and treatment adjustments.</li>
<li>Stay up to date with best practices, research, and advancements in occupational therapy.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Education: Master’s or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.</li>
<li>Licensure: Active Occupational Therapy license in Missouri.</li>
<li>Experience: Prior experience in occupational therapy (preferred but not required).</li>
<li>Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and patient-care skills.</li>
<li>Certifications: CPR certification (preferred).</li>

Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:

<li>Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as an Occupational Therapist required</li>
<li>Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills</li>
<li>Tech-savvy with the ability to navigate electronic documentation. </li>
</ul>
Areas of Responsibility:
<ul>
<li>Evaluates assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plan in accordance with the patient's need and physician's direction within the post-acute setting.</li>
<li>Supervision of occupational therapist assistants, within scope of practice</li>
<li>Communication with interdisciplinary team with focus on case managing patient's needs, not minutes! </li>
