Representative Duties:
Provides high quality clinical services to patients of Fenway Health’s Dentistry Department
<ul>
<li>Assists in the oral health management of all clinic patients </li>
<li>Obtains baseline oral hygiene assessment data based upon accepted principles of oral hygiene and periodontal care </li>
<li>Provides oral health education and appropriate individual counseling for all center dental patients </li>
<li>Provides clinical oral hygiene services including dental prophylaxis, scaling, local anesthetic, sealant application and fluoride (varnish/SDF) applications consistent with accepted professional practices and standards and in compliance with applicable state law and the center’s clinical protocols </li>
<li>Performs independent procedures as delegated and directed by a dentist in accordance with state regulations and law as well as Dental Department protocol and directive </li>
<li>Assists with various other clinical functions of the Dentistry Department as appropriate and if time permits </li>
</ul>
Performs non-Clinical Activities related to patient care
<ul>
<li>Records patient-hygienist transactions as they occur in the patient’s dental record so that the dental record accurately and completely reflects the nature of the contact, the condition of the patient and the care or treatment provided </li>
<li>Integration of appropriate patient dental hygiene care with other health care professionals involved in the patient’s health care management </li>
<li>Assists in the maintenance of all Dental Department areas in compliance with Dental Department directive and policies as well as center policies and procedures relative to infection control, exposure control and safety issues </li>
<li>Receives and places necessary telephone calls consistent with professional matters, clinic business and patient care of the Dental Department </li>
<li>Assists with various other non-clinical functions of the Dentistry Department as appropriate and if time permits </li>
<li> Insures the proper disposal of all contaminated or potentially contaminated materials in accordance with Dental Department directive and center policy as well as state federal regulations(s) </li>
<li>Complies in full with the center’s Exposure Control Plan </li>
<li>Travels when necessary to meet operational needs </li>
<li>As directed by a supervisor, performs other related and/or necessary tasks to achieve organizational and programmatic goals and objectives </li>

With a well-established patient base, this role offers a productive schedule and the opportunity to make a real difference in patients' lives. 
Key Responsibilities:

<li>Provide High-Quality Patient Care: Perform a range of dental hygiene procedures, including cleanings, scaling, root planing (SRP), and adjunctive treatments as needed. </li>
<li>Patient Education: Educate patients on maintaining optimal oral health, including brushing, flossing, plaque control, nutrition, and preventive care. </li>
<li>Collaborate with the Dental Team: Work closely with the dentist and other team members to assess patient needs and ensure they receive the best care possible. Assist with the development of individualized treatment plans. </li>
<li>Patient Comfort &amp; Communication: Ensure that patients are comfortable throughout their appointments and address any concerns they may have. Build strong relationships with patients and encourage good oral hygiene habits. </li>
<li>Maintain Clinical Documentation: Keep accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting all treatments, procedures, and patient interactions. </li>
<li>Infection Control &amp; Safety: Adhere to strict infection control and safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for both patients and staff. </li>
<li>Manage Patient Flow: Effectively manage a productive schedule of 8-12 patients per day, ensuring high-quality care while maintaining efficiency. </li>
</ul>
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Education &amp; Licensure: A degree or certificate in dental hygiene from an accredited program and a valid state dental hygiene license. </li>
<li>Experience: Previous experience in dental hygiene is preferred, but newly graduated hygienists are encouraged to apply. </li>
<li>Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a service-oriented, compassionate approach to patient care. </li>
<li>Professionalism &amp; Commitment: A strong commitment to maintaining a high standard of care, lifelong learning, and staying current with best practices in dental hygiene. </li>

<li> $35-$40 an hour </li>
<li>Monthly Bonuses based on performance </li>

Schedule:

<li>Flexible - 3-4 days/week</li>
<li>Tuesdays - 8:30am or 9:00am to 6:00pm</li>
<li>Wednesdays and Thursdays - 7:30am to 5:00pm </li>
<li>Fridays - 8:00am to 2:00pm</li>
