We are currently seeking a highly capable, self-directed individual to serve as the Solid Waste and Sustainability District Manager at Champ Landfill in Maryland Heights, Missouri.&nbsp;&nbsp;
This is one of the region's most exciting leadership roles in the solid waste and renewable energy sector. 
Champ Landfill Background:&nbsp; Situated in an active limestone quarry, Champ is a premier resource management center delivering renewable energy, safe materials handling and disposal services.&nbsp; Formerly the Fred Weber Sanitary Landfill, Champ is the largest solid waste facility in Missouri in the middle of its largest city.&nbsp; The site’s neighbors include two schools, a church, multiple businesses including an adventure park, St. Louis’ largest amphitheater, a casino, corporate woods, and two large subdivisions.&nbsp; Most of Champ’s neighbors are active partners and/or participants in the Facility’s sustainability initiatives.
Your Role:&nbsp; You will head a team of site and region managers to continue Champ’s transformation from being a landfill to a facility delivering sustainable solutions for the region and striving for continued financial growth while achieving demonstrable reductions in the site’s carbon footprint.&nbsp; 
Salary: $135k - 150k with Bonus Opportunities! 
Your Core Work Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Lead and manage a team of over 25 professionals to efficiently manage over 3,500 tons of waste per day.&nbsp; Above all else will be your commitment to human health/safety, compliance, and environmental stewardship.</li>
<li>Lead and manage the site’s operations with a forward thinking mindset. Oversee intricate landfill gas collection/control and leachate removal/pretreatment systems; continually striving for opportunities in improved operating efficiencies. </li>
<li>Partner closely with our local hauling company managers along with our municipal, commercial, roll-off, and special waste partners to expand Champ and Waste Connections’ growth.</li>
<li>Interact with and manage coordination between multiple on site parties to include an active quarry company, asphalt plant, concrete plant, and two landfill gas-to-energy ventures.</li>
<li>Be able to run the business of Champ.&nbsp; Must be familiar with budgeting, forecasting expenses, managing expenses/capital purchases and projects. Must be able to drive revenue creation, analyze/execute pricing strategies, and manage customer contracts.</li>
<li>Lead construction as well as drive growth of the Waste Connections Sustainability systems and campus including a new state of the art Sustainability Education Center.&nbsp; Evaluate new opportunities to harness value from discarded materials and assess viability of technologies/techniques toward that end.</li>
<li>Be a key voice in further developing relationships and partnerships with municipal partners, businesses, regulators, schools, church officials, local reporters, and special interest groups. &nbsp;Regularly attend/participate in government, community and business events.</li>
<li>Be passionate about coaching and developing employees at all levels in the organization.</li>
<li>Foster the work hard, play harder attitude that defines Waste Connections.</li>
</ul>
&nbsp;Minimum Qualifications: &nbsp;&nbsp;
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in engineering, the sciences, or business.</li>
<li>10+ years management level experience in solid waste, mining, oil &amp; gas, or civil construction. </li>
<li>Demonstrated highly effective leadership of diverse groups of blue and white-collar people</li>
<li>Knowledge of waste hauling, recycling, and disposal operating systems</li>
<li>Broad Knowledge of environmental and health/safety regulations and laws</li>
<li>Flexibility in spending several days at a time being away from home</li>
<li>Accustomed to being exposed to challenging physical environments which involves, dirt, odor, noise, weather extremes or similar elements</li>
