The incumbent will work under the overall supervision of the Vice-President (Academic Affairs), and functionally under the Head of Port Management. As a faculty member at the World Maritime University, the Assistant Professor is expected to provide teaching/mentoring and research and publication and promote inter-university cooperation in areas related to maritime economics and management.
The Assistant Professor of Maritime Economics and Management is expected to contribute to the overall efforts of WMU to strengthen the economics component in its academic programmes. This position is therefore open to candidates with a wide range of interests and expertise in economic and management matters related to shipping and port operations and management. Areas of focus of potential candidates for this position may include, among others, maritime economics, business, and management.
Responsibilities
The Assistant Professor of Maritime Economics and Management is expected, under the supervision of the Vice-President (Academic Affairs) and functionally under the Head of Port Management, to be engaged in:

<li>teaching, including engagement in the MSc teaching programmes in Malmö, WMU Outreach Campuses and other locations as assigned; coordinating and participating in student field studies; mentoring of PhD and MSc students and supervision of research theses/dissertations in areas related to the expertise; maintaining scholarship in the form of publications in peer-reviewed journals, books, book chapters, etc.; developing research projects, submission of project proposals, and delivery of such projects; disseminating research findings at academic and professional conferences and meetings; maintain active engagement and remain up-to-date in area of expertise, including collaborating with UN agencies, EU bodies and relevant industry partners and professional bodies; being involved in distance learning (e-learning) programmes, PDCs, and capacity-building courses as required; serving on WMU committees and work groups, and active participation in administrative, academic, and curriculum duties; and undertake special projects and other duties as required.</li>

PRINCIPAL PURPOSE OF JOB:&nbsp;The Research Associate will serve as a support person for the Entomology and Insect Ecology and Management Program, and will assist in developing, conducting, and managing field and Laboratory research for this program at Kentucky State University. &nbsp; The successful candidate will also help prepare manuscripts for publishing in journals and presenting relevant information at scientific meetings, in addition to Extension and outreach programming such as the KSU Third Thursday Sustainable Ag Workshops. &nbsp; &nbsp;

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:&nbsp;The successful candidate in this position will work closely with the principal investigator and be a member of a team conducting investigative field and laboratory research focusing on conservation biological control using native perennial plants to increase biodiversity of insect predators and parasitoids (i.e., natural enemies) to manage pest insects in vegetable and fruit crops. Specifically we are attracting several species of lady beetles, lacewings, big eyed bugs, minute pirate bugs, ground beetles and other predators and parasitoids of sweet corn pests to this and other crops. This position will also evaluate/develop sustainable methods of sweet corn insect pest management by conducting laboratory bioassays of flowering plants, weeds, and synthetic herbivore induced plant protection odors which may attract or repel beneficial insects.
&nbsp;
This position involves designing and implementing, and maintaining field, laboratory, and greenhouse experiments. &nbsp;It involves setting up experiments, collecting, entering, and statistical analyses of data, assisting with development of manuscripts for publication, PowerPoints for presenting, plus training and supervising other researchers, graduate students, and undergraduates who are conducting research in the program. &nbsp;Experience operating farm machinery (ie. tractors, planters, cultivators, tine weeders, etc.) is preferred. &nbsp;Experience analyzing data using modern statistical software is essential as is fluency in all Microsoft Office Software. &nbsp;&nbsp;

Purpose of the Opportunity The Manager of Individual Gifts is responsible for identifying,cultivating, qualifying, and soliciting mid-level ($1,000-$4,999)donors to raise significant revenue for Win. Reporting to theSenior Director, Major Gifts, the Individual Giving officer managesaspects of the individual donor programs (events, communicationscontent, solicitation) to raise funds and donor commitments insupport of Win programs. Donor Relations and Cultivation • Manage portfolio of donors supporting from $1,000-$4,999,including annual giving, from communications and engagement tosolicitation and stewardship. • Coordinate donor experiences involving Development and Programteams, including strategy development and preparation of briefingdocuments, formal proposals, and logistical support. • Oversee the acknowledgement and recognition processes formid-level donors, ensuring immediate, tailored, and accuratecorrespondence to donors, and on-going appreciation asappropriate.
Research and Metrics • Regularly provide reporting on mid-level financial progress as itrelates to overall goal. • Work closely with the Director of Development Operations todevelop systems and methodology to identify/qualify new Windonors. • Analyze donor data and fundraising metrics to assess performance,identify trends and share key learnings to inform strategicdecision-making.
 Data-Driven Approach • Ensure the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date donor recordsin Salesforce, Win’s CRM database, with a focus on data hygiene.Work with the Development staff to ensure fulfillment andimplementation. • Track and report activities and progress towards goals throughthe fiscal year. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

<li>Supervises the Resource Management Services Division (comprising the following departments: Acquisitions &amp; Continuing Resources, Cataloging &amp; Metadata, and Library Management Systems), which includes coordinating workflow, training, and evaluation of staff, and oversight of personnel issues within the division</li>
<li>With the other assistant directors and under the supervision of the director, manages ongoing daily activities of the library</li>
<li>Coordinates with the director and other assistant directors in short- and long-range planning for the library, and takes a leading role in creating and implementing library guidelines and procedures</li>
<li>Acts in the stead of the director in his absence, either alone or in cooperation with the other assistant directors</li>
<li>Coordinates with other library departments in connection with Resource Management Services activities affecting those departments</li>
<li>Maintains oversight for the library's integrated system, and works with the library management systems librarian on priorities for technical support issues</li>
<li>Collaborates with librarians with responsibilities related to electronic resources to discuss and resolve problems, review updates, and enhancements affecting the library’s electronic resources</li>
<li>Participates in other university, law school, library activities and/or serves on professional association committees</li>

Minimum Qualifications:

<li>Graduate degree in library or information science (e.g., MLS) from an ALA-accredited institution or completion of degree requirements by the time of appointment, and</li>
<li>A minimum of five years of post-graduate degree experience in resource management services with a broad knowledge of acquisitions and continuing resources, cataloging and/or metadata, and library management systems; strong managerial, problem-solving, project management, and communication and writing skills</li>

<li>Provide leadership and guidance to extension agents and other staff members involved in disaster health and wellness initiatives.</li>
<li>Create or research best practices into educational materials that extension staff may implement or utilize for programming.</li>
<li>Create educational programming the comes from growing food from controlled environments; working and building collaboration with other extension nutrition expertise and programs to combat health disparities within marginalized communities.</li>
<li>Create recipes, fax sheets, and publications revolving from the variety of area foods KSU grows.</li>
<li>Conduct educational workshops, training sessions, and public presentations to raise awareness about disaster health and wellness topics.</li>
<li>Develop educational materials, resources, and tools to support community members in preparing for, responding to, and recovering from disasters.</li>
<li>Foster partnerships with local, state, and federal agencies, as well as community organizations, to promote collaboration and maximize the impact of disaster health and wellness efforts.</li>
<li>Conduct needs assessments to identify the specific disaster health and wellness challenges and priorities within different communities.</li>
<li>Analyze data and information gathered through assessments to inform the development of targeted intervention strategies and programs.</li>
<li>Collaborate with extension agents, researchers, and subject matter experts to develop comprehensive disaster health and wellness plans.</li>
<li>Provide training and capacity-building opportunities to extension agents, community leaders, and other stakeholders to enhance their knowledge and skills in disaster health and wellness.</li>
<li>Develop and deliver train-the-trainer programs to ensure the sustainability and scalability of disaster health and wellness initiatives.</li>
<li>Foster a culture of continuous learning by organizing conferences, webinars, and workshops to disseminate information and share best practices.</li>
<li>Establish evaluation frameworks and metrics to assess the effectiveness and impact of disaster health and wellness programs.</li>
<li>Collect and analyze data to evaluate program outcomes and identify areas for improvement.</li>
<li>Prepare reports and presentations summarizing program activities, achievements, and future recommendations for stakeholders and funders.</li>

QUALIFICATIONS:&nbsp;
<ul>
<li>Master’s degree in public health, emergency management, community health, or a related field required. A Ph.D. degree is preferred.</li>
<li>Extensive experience in disaster health and wellness, emergency preparedness, or a related field.</li>
<li>Knowledge of public health principles, community engagement strategies, and disaster response and recovery processes.</li>
<li>Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.</li>
<li>Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey information to diverse audiences. Proficiency in data analysis and program evaluation techniques.</li>
<li>Ability to establish and maintain effective partnerships and collaborations with various stakeholders.</li>
<li>Flexibility to travel within the state and work evenings or weekends as needed.</li>
