Education, Training &amp; Certification:
<ul>
<li>Must have a certification or degree in Nuclear Medicine.</li>
<li>A minimum of one-year experience performing nuclear medicine imaging procedures, specifically cardiac exams and performing quality assurance on the equipment is preferred.</li>
<li>Must have an active NMTCB or ARRT(N) license, and, if applicable, a state license in good standing.</li>
<li>American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and CPR courses.</li>

Under the supervision of the Diagnostic Radiology Manager and/or Assistant Chief Technologist, performs a wide variety of technical and professional duties utilizing complex imaging equipment to produce quality radiographic images as requested for subsequent interpretation by the radiologist. All duties are performed according to departmental and organizational policies and procedures. Promotes service excellence in all interactions as outlined in the Key Behaviors in the YNHH Core Success Factors and serves as a mentor for junior staff. Additionally, the Rad Tech 2 functions with minimal supervision, is expected to work independently in problem solving and may assume responsibility for Radiography section operations in the absence of the Assistant Chief Tech. To meet the staffing needs of the department, as necessary, Diagnostic Radiology staff may be assigned at any of the YNHH Diagnostic Radiology locations, regardless of your regularly assigned work location. Demonstrated above average technical skills and excellent communication skills, RT(R) certification by the American Registry of, Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), Connecticut State License, and CPR certification preferred. LICENSURE CT STATE LICENSE AND ARRT LICENSE. SPECIAL SKILLS Proficient in advanced Radiography CR/Digital imaging techniques, above average, knowledge of computer / Pacs applications, and good organizational and communication/customer service, skills. Responsibilities
Duties:

<li>Knowledgeable of special requirements when imaging infants and children, including location of pediatric immobilizers, weight based administration of radiopharmaceuticals, and any other adjustments in technique, positioning or procedure necessary to obtain a quality exam.</li>
<li>The technologist must keep parents/legal guardians informed at all times on the condition of minors and alleviate any fears.</li>
<li>Produces high quality diagnostic medical images for interpretation and to Radiologist specification.</li>
<li>Ability to prepare radio-pharmaceutical aseptically and inject such radio-pharmaceutical as necessary for the requested study.</li>
<li>Responsible for thoroughly explaining all procedures to each patient before examination. Employs all necessary patient care techniques to ensure patient safety and well being.</li>
<li>Schedules patients for nuclear medicine studies. Gives preparation instructions. Correlates with Cardiologists as required.</li>

Qualifications
Purpose &amp; Scope:
<ul>
<li>Performs those duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures, administering radio-pharmaceutical for the purpose of detecting pathology, evaluating function, or as a means of therapy.</li>

Education:
