PRINCIPAL PURPOSE OF JOB: Disaster Educator plays a vital role in providing education and resources related to disaster preparedness, response, and recovery to the community. This position is responsible for developing and delivering educational programs and materials to increase community resilience and ensure individuals, families, and communities are better prepared to handle natural or man-made disasters. The specialist will work closely with county extension offices, emergency management agencies, and community organizations to coordinate and implement disaster education initiatives.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:&nbsp;

<li>Conduct needs assessments to identify community disaster preparedness gaps and priorities.</li>
<li>Design, develop, and deliver educational programs and workshops related to disaster preparedness, response, and recovery.</li>

<li>Strong knowledge of disaster preparedness, response, and recovery strategies, including hazard mitigation, community resilience, and post-disaster rebuilding.</li>
<li>Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.</li>

Position Summary Reporting to the Senior Classification and Compensation Analyst, the Classification and Compensation Specialist serves as a key member of the Classification and Compensation team within University Human Resources. The position will maintain and manage project tracking tools, documentation, and correspondence related to position evaluations for recruitment, promotions/reclassifications, and other position and pay actions. This role will perform related updates in HR's data systems and tracking mechanisms. The incumbent will respond to or triage and assign communications from general email accounts or voicemail boxes to other members of the team, as well as monitor and maintain web pages for Classification and Compensation. Additionally, this role will serve as the main point of contact for various types of pay actions, collecting data, logging, and evaluating requests for approval. This position can be based in Eugene, work hybrid, or be fully remote. All adjusted work arrangements require supervisor and leadership approval. Minimum Requirements 
<li> Bachelor's degree OR one year of relevant experience (includes experience in Human Resources, customer service and retail, data entry, or other functions where the transferable skills are evident to the position.) Professional Competencies </li>

<li> Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Services, Business Management, Finance, or relevant field. </li>
<li> Familiarity with State, Federal, and Oregon labor laws. </li>
<li> Experience working in/or familiarity with Human Resource functions. </li>
<li> Experience working in higher education. </li>

Location: Wilson School District Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour Hours: Approximately 4.5 hours per day, split shift Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:45 AM – 8:50 AM and 2:15 PM – 4:50 PM

Responsibilities:

Ensure students remain safely seat-belted or harnessed during the ride.
