What you’ll be working on
The Human Resources Assistant will report to the Human Resources Manager and be responsible for a number of different personnel related administrative tasks and providing clerical support to the HR department and employees regarding human resources related activities, policies, processes, and procedures. 
Essential Job Duties:
<ul>
<li>Provide high-level customer service regarding employee-related matters. </li>
<li>Process bi-weekly payroll, including approval of timecards, employee reimbursements, and new hire/termination reporting.</li>
<li>Assist with the temporary labor provider for the plant/office. </li>
<li>Support the organization on employee development to include training, development plans, and career pathing. </li>
<li>Assist with timely communication within the organization regarding organizational changes and other important topics. </li>
<li>Assist with projects related to process improvement. </li>
<li>Recruiting operators, forklift drivers, and other non-management positions. </li>
<li>Performance management and improvement tracking systems support. </li>
<li>Employee orientation, development, and training support. </li>
<li>Assist with communication between the company and employees</li>
<li>Compensation and benefits administration and recordkeeping.</li>
<li>Run and distribute monthly reports for attendance, training, and safety checks.</li>
<li>Employee safety, welfare, wellness, and health reporting support.</li>
<li>HR filing system.</li>
</ul>
Non-Essential Job Duties:
<ul>
<li>Will perform other related work as assigned. </li>
<li>In the absence of this employee, the direct manager or appointee will cover responsibilities.</li>

Preferred requirements for this role:
<ul>
<li>Associate’s degree in Business or Human Resources or equivalent experience</li>
<li>1-3 years of Human Resources experience; generalist experience desired </li>
<li>Exposure to some or all of the main HR disciplines including talent acquisition, performance management, organizational development, compensation, benefits, HRIS, and employee relations </li>
<li>Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred </li>
<li>Basic business acumen </li>
<li>Ability to build strong relationships with internal customers </li>
<li>Knowledge and understanding of Federal, State and Local legislation regarding employment and labor laws </li>
<li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment </li>
<li>Ability to handle highly sensitive information </li>
<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite </li>
