Qualifications:

<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field; relevant certifications and extensive experience can substitute for formal education</li>
<li>Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher</li>
<li>Minimum of 5 years of work experience in network engineering, preferably in the energy or utility sector</li>
<li>Travel or commute to California locations (Pittsburg or San Francisco) regularly for project tasks</li>
<li>Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds</li>
<li>Physical ability to stand for long periods of time, walk long distances around the substations, and climb ladders to access, manage, and troubleshoot network devices</li>
<li>Fluent in English; Ability to clearly communicate (orally and through composition) and document technical issues, thoughts, and solutions</li>
<li>Strong understanding and fluent with usage of Microsoft Excel/Visio/Word for documentation, heavy emphasis on Visio to support network drawings/documentation</li>
</ul>

George Consulting is seeking a Network Engineer with an understanding in working in Agile Project management and/or Development Operations environments and to support a Department of Defense research lab. 
 
Roles and Responsibilities: 
The Network Engineer responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 
<ul>
<li>Design and implement computer and information networks (physical and virtual), such as local area networks (LAN/VLAN), wide area networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, and other data communications networks. </li>
<li>Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning. </li>
<li>Configure and maintain Cisco VPN enabled network </li>
<li>Research and recommend network and data communications hardware and software. </li>
<li>Able to work independently with limited direction and be self-motivated. </li>
<li>Able to work with other contractor teammates and customers daily. </li>
<li>Able to work closely with customers to ensure deliverables meet their expectations and arrive in a timely manner. </li>
<li>Attend and actively participate in team meetings. </li>
<li>Apply software patches to network assets in response to and to mitigate vulnerability findings. </li>
</ul>

Required Skills &amp; Experience:
