Responsibilities 
<ul>
<li>Performs fabrication, installation and operational support of instrumentation systems and wiring&nbsp;harnesses on various aircraft and test articles. </li>
<li>Operate, install, adjust, and maintain computer systems, consoles,&nbsp;simulators and other data acquisition, test and measurement instruments and equipment, which are used to evaluate&nbsp;air vehicles. This position utilizes wiring diagrams and technical information provided by engineers and senior&nbsp;technicians to independently fabricate the instrumentation system racks and wiring harnesses including installation&nbsp;and performs pre-flight and post-flight operational checks on instrumentation systems prior to and following test&nbsp;flights. </li>
<li>Provide support during aircraft measurement calibrations as required. For the electronics track, applies&nbsp;learned technical knowledge to perform fabrication, assembly, soldering, repair, modification and installation of&nbsp;electrical components, PCBs, wiring harnesses, cables, wires, wiring assemblies and associated parts. </li>
<li>The&nbsp;Technician must have the technical knowledge to demonstrate a practical application of tools and techniques to&nbsp;assigned duties including the ability to perform acceptance tests and measurements on electronic components and&nbsp;assemblies. </li>
<li>The ability to perform soldering and knowledge of tools and equipment required to perform required&nbsp;functions.</li>

Qualifications

<li>High School diploma or equivalent. Must obtain (and subsequently maintain) EWIS certification within 60 days. Government taught class may be used if available. Other Branch specific training may&nbsp;be required and provided. </li>
<li>For the electronics track, must obtain (and subsequently maintain) certifications for IPC/EIA- J-STD 001, IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620 and IPC-7711/7721. Government taught class may be used&nbsp;if available.</li>
<li>A minimum of three years of experience in performing the stated functions.</li>

Design/direct ground tests, wind tunnel tests, and flight tests.
Apply modeling and simulation tools to address complex, challenging, and unprecedented aerodynamic configurations.
Devise engineering software scripts and programs for specific program engineering purposes: software development could be included in the task portfolio.
Professionally document certification artifacts, engineering documentation (e.g. test plans, analysis results), and formal presentations.
Works well as a member of a discipline team in a dynamic multi-tasking environment.
Required Skills:
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required. 
A Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering (with Aerospace specialty) plus 7 years of experience or a Master's degree plus 5 years of experience.
2 years of relevant experience in aircraft/store compatibility, particularly with store separation.
Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance within 6-9 months. 
Knowledge of aerodynamics and fluid mechanics.
Experience in modern control theory applications.
Experience operating in LINUX/UNIX environments.
Experience using Python, MatLab, or similar engineering software.
Excellent technical writing and oral communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently, as well as with a team.
Ability to travel using commercial airlines is required to support professional obligations.
Master’s degree in Aeronautical, Aerospace, or Mechanical (with Aerospace specialty) Engineering.
General engineering experience, including familiarity with modeling &amp; simulation, is desired to meet the basic position requirements.
Knowledge of aircraft, air-launched weapons, and aircraft suspension equipment.
