Some weekday morning hours are available based on demand. Competitive pay, depending on experience, subjects that candidates can teach, and availability. We seek dynamic mathematics instructors working with upper elementary to college students. Instructors must be confident in teaching Algebra, Geometry, and ACT/SAT. As part of our hiring process here at Mathnasium, all applicants will be required to take a math literacy test to demonstrate math proficiency. Application Process:

<li>As part of filling out the application, you will schedule your in center math literacy employment test, which covers basic math through Algebra 2 and Geometry. The test takes up to 2 hours to complete. No calculator is allowed.</li>
<li>If you meet the benchmark score of 85% on our employment test, you will be invited via email and/or text to an interview with our Center Director. The interview lasts up to an hour and covers your approach to teaching math concepts and working with students.</li>
<li>We aim to communicate our hiring decision within a week of your interview.</li>

What You'll Do:

<li>Teach Engaging Curriculum: Use company-created curriculum and materials designed for advanced students to lead small classes in math.</li>
<li>Engage Students: Actively involve students in each class or student-led learning. </li>
<li>Classroom Management: Expertly manage up to 16 students. </li>
<li>Grade &amp; Provide Feedback: Provide feedback on tests.</li>
<li>Build Relationships: Connect with students and families to make a lasting impact on their educational journey.</li>
<li>Inspire Learning: Encourage a love for learning and critical thinking in math.</li>
</ul>
Skills and Experience Requirements:
<ul>
<li>A Bachelor's degree is required. </li>
<li>A Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related or educational field is strongly preferred. </li>
<li>Strong content knowledge in math. </li>
<li>Experience teaching or tutoring students. </li>
<li>Classroom teaching experience at the K-12 level is preferred. </li>
</ul>

<li>A formal teaching credential is not required for this position. </li>
</ul>
Schedule:
<ul>
<li>AoPS Academy is an on-site afterschool program with classes in the evenings and on weekends. Candidates must be available to teach during weekday after-school hours (as early as 4pm) and/or on weekends.</li>
<li>This position requires a minimum initial commitment of about 3 hours per week for each assigned class. </li>
<li>Each course meets once per week for 1 hour 45 minutes. </li>
</ul>
Campus Location:

<li>This is an in-person position at our Pasadena location.</li>
<li>Candidates must be located in Pasadena, CA or the greater area and must be able to commute to our campus. </li>
