Tanker truck driver
Average pay: $1,140-$1,400 weekly
Home time: Weekly
Experience: All CDL holders
Overview
<ul>
<li>Haul liquid chemical freight in tanker trailers.</li>
<li>Home for 34-48-hours, typically on weekends.</li>
<li>5-10 loads per week.</li>
</ul>
 Pay and bonus potential
<ul>
<li>Mileage pay, plus hourly pay while on duty, not driving.</li>
<li>Weekly performance pay.</li>
<li>Earn up to $0.03 more per mile by obtaining additional CDL certifications.</li>
<li>$7,500 sign-on bonus paid over 12 monthly payments in your first year for experienced drivers.</li>
<li>$5,000 sign-on bonus paid over 12 monthly payments in your first year for inexperienced drivers.</li>
<li>Paid orientation.</li>
<li>Paid time off after 6 months, plus 6 days of holiday pay per year.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).</li>
<li>Tanker endorsement required at time of hire.</li>
<li>HazMat endorsement required after hire — Schneider’s self-paced online certification training will help you secure it.</li>
<li>TWIC card preferred — required to start process within 60 days of hire.</li>
<li>Live within 50 miles of Gary, IN or Chicago, IL.</li>
