About the Role:
The Construction Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing safety programs, policies, and communication to ensure a safe work environment on project sites. The Safety Manager will report to the Vice President of Montante Construction and will also support safety initiatives for Montante Solar and TM Montante Development. Responsibilities include;
 
Safety Management
<ul>
<li>Develop and enforce safety policies and procedures in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.</li>
<li>Serve as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert (SME) for all safety-related inquiries and concerns.</li>
<li>Conduct weekly site inspections and safety audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards. Document and communicate findings to project teams and VP.</li>
<li>Ensure all job site locations are current with site required safety matters, including signage, processes, PPE, and documentation. </li>
<li>Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to address safety concerns and develop safety plans for new projects. This includes assisting project teams with writing job-hazard analysis (JHA) or project specific safety plans. In addition, reviewing and ensuring the implementation of site-specific safety plans.</li>
<li>Manage the accident reporting and return to work processes, coordinating with human resources on leave management, insurance brokers and external representatives such as customers, owners representatives, or construction managers.</li>
<li>Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Document and communicate findings to project teams and VP.

<li>Present debrief action plans to project teams and use information to inform general training plans.</li>
</ul>

<li>Stay current with industry safety trends, regulations, and best practices.</li>

Safety Committee &amp; Training Management
<ul>
<li>Lead and manage the Montante Safety Committees bi-monthly meetings and plan and implement all team safety training. </li>

Data Management, Reporting, and Recordkeeping
<ul>
<li>Monitor and report on safety performance metrics and recommend improvements as needed.</li>
<li>Maintain and update company safety documentation, including safety manuals, injury reports and related documentation, OSHA records, boilerplate reports. </li>
</ul>
 
Desired Experience &amp; Qualifications:

<li>Bachelors degree in occupational health and safety, construction management, or a related field (preferred).</li>
<li>5 years of experience in safety management within the construction industry, electrical safety experience a plus.</li>
<li>Relevant certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST), or similar (preferred).</li>

PRIMARY SCOPE
The Site Safety &amp; Health Officer works on US Army Corps of Engineer project(s). The SSHO must plan, schedule, and prepare for work to reduce and eliminate hazards in advance. This role is the "competent person" on site and provides safety direction while ensuring adherence to all safety regulations and programs with the Site Supervisor. PRIMARY DUTIES

Power Health &amp; Safety Manager - A Day in the Life
As a Safety Manager, you uphold our top value: Safety. You lead accident prevention efforts, conduct site audits, and ensure compliance with OSHA, L&amp;I, DOT, and company policies. Through training and site visits, you reinforce safe practices and recognize employees for proactive safety measures.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A POWER HEALTH &amp; SAFETY MANAGER

<li>Bachelor's degree in occupational health or a related field experience Preferred but not required</li>
<li>Must have Union &amp; High Voltage Experience</li>
<li>Current WA driver's license</li>
<li>5+ years of experience in a safety-related field</li>
<li>Knowledge of the principles and practices of construction operations</li>
<li>Experience in conducting incident fact-finding and preparing detailed reports of findings in order to improve workplace safety</li>
<li>Support, Maintain and Coordinate DOT/FMCSA Compliance</li>
<li>Experience presenting information that promotes safety, health, and wellness to large groups</li>
<li>Leadership ability</li>
</ul>
Certified safety professional (CSP) or certified utility safety professional (CUSP) certifications are desirable but not necessarily required. Union experience highly desired. This is a Safety Sensitive Position.

 As a Site Safety and Health Officer, your role primarily involves overseeing safety and health policies at construction sites. Responsibilities of the position could involve working at a single site or multiple sites. Below are the key responsibilities associated with this position: 
 
 • Knowledge and understanding of the Company’s Safety and Health Program, applicable Regulatory Standards and EM 385-1-1
 • Understanding of site-specific project safety requirements 
• Assist project team with Safety Startup Checklist

• Strong communication skills
