Lawrence County Surgery Center is seeking an individual to work part time under the supervision and authority of a surgeon to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive and non-invasive surgical procedures, ensuring that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. We have two operating rooms and one special procedure room. We primarily perform cataract surgery.
The surgical technologist handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. He/she has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field. &nbsp;
Preoperative Duties are as follows:

<li>Donning OR attire and personal protective equipment (PPE).</li>
<li>Gathers, checks and opens supplies and equipment needed for the surgical procedure.</li>

Overview
Shriners Children's Ohio has an opportunity for a Certified Surgical Technologist. Join a team of professionals committed to improving children's lives. This full-time position will work ten hour shifts, 4 days per week and includes an on-call rotation. 
 
Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>The Certified Surgical Technologist is responsible to provide direct patient care during surgical procedures as the “scrub” technician to assist the “circulating” nurse.</li>
<li>Maintain and prepare OR equipment, supplies, and instruments for a variety of surgical procedures. </li>
<li>Performs sponge and instrument counts. </li>
</ul>

Qualifications
Required:
<ul>
<li>High School Diploma / GED</li>
<li>Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)</li>
<li>Certified Surgical Technologist</li>
</ul>
Preferred:
<ul>
<li>1 year experience with scrub and circulation skills</li>
<li>Prior experience with sterile technique, infection control, sterilization and disinfection procedures </li>
<li>Knowledge of burn and plastic procedures and instrumentation highly preferred</li>
<li>ORT pediatric certification</li>
