Key Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

Duties and Responsibilities:
 
Assists radiologist/performs (as applicable) all diagnostic radiologic procedures, including processing of films.
Takes and processes all requests for tests on a timely basis. Ensures all request forms have proper physician signature, patient history, diagnosis, type of test requested and special instructions.
Assists receptionist with scheduling of radiologic tests, as needed.
Assists patients to and from waiting area, reviews the patient’s history and prepares all paperwork according to the center’s policies and procedures.

Communicates with the appropriate preventative maintenance company, as necessary for equipment/software problems.
Orders and maintains required inventory of films and other radiologic supplies.
Participates in in-service education programs, as requested.
Performs, according to schedule, mandated quality assurance activities, including:

Performs quality control tests of equipment

<li>Maintain infection control and universal precautions at all times; wear appropriate professional attire (scrub uniforms approved).</li>
<li>Explain procedures to patients to alleviate anxiety and ensure cooperation.</li>
<li>Notify referring physicians of preliminary abnormalities and coordinate additional imaging as needed.</li>
<li>Ensure continuity of care by coordinating transfer of patient radiologic records.</li>
<li>Support the Clinical Director and medical staff in monitoring and evaluation activities.</li>
<li>Adhere to all security, privacy, and institutional policies, including compliance with the Privacy Act of 1974 and Bureau of Prisons Health Services Manual.</li>

<li>Participate in required institutional orientation and security training.</li>
</ul>
Minimum Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology.</li>
<li>Current, unrestricted license as a Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).</li>
<li>Current state of Florida Radiologic Technologist license.</li>
<li>Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Radiology Technician.</li>
<li>Current Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).</li>
<li>Ability to pass a federal background check, drug screening, and health screening (including TB testing).</li>
<li>Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a diverse inmate population and multidisciplinary team.</li>
<li>Proficiency with electronic health records and digital imaging systems.</li>
</ul>
Experience working in correctional or secure healthcare environments (Preferred)
