<li>Develop and maintain the Department of Chemistry marketing materials including policies and procedures for social media accounts, website management, and media. Reviews media marketing plan with supervisor. Maintain a digital archiving system for all footage.</li>
<li>Serve as primary news media contact for the department. Follow professional trends, keeping tools and practices current and accessible. Work with internal program areas to identify and serve unique needs and interests related to interactive media. Provides input to administration and faculty on planning and production of informational materials to ensure compliance with current and established laws, policy and protocol (specifically, OSU Branding Policy, ADA accessibility, Model Releases and Copyright Laws). Consult regularly with faculty and staff to keep all published content up-to-date and accurate. Set production deadlines and monitor progress to ensure completion of projects.</li>
<li>Create web announcements, feature stories, web pages and web forms. Post collected information on department blog to be used in publications.</li>
<li>Works with the dept. manager to design, write, edit and produce print publications such as newsletters, pamphlets, flyers, and news releases to promote departmental activities and programs. Publication would include but is not limited to articles on various lecture series, outreach activities, grants and awards given to faculty, and undergraduate and graduate students of the Quarter.</li>
<li>Design, create and maintain photographic departmental directory for public view. Work closely with subcontractors for implementation and creation of final product. Coordinate with OSU Printing and Mailing and public entities for media and event related purchases (Michael’s Craft Store, Fireline T’s, Imprint.com, etc.)</li>
<li>Collaborate with faculty to write scripts for department events such as Fall Gathering and Spring Awards celebration.</li>
<li>Serve as liaison with College of Science and campus marketing teams. Actively seek out department, college and university activities for possible publication and promotion.</li>

The Wilkinson Public Library (San Miguel County Public Library District #1) is located in spectacular southwestern Colorado, known for its stunning scenic beauty and a rich, colorful history. A five-member board of trustees, each appointed by the San Miguel County Commissioners oversees the library district.
Currently, the District has a strong financial position. The 2025 budget anticipates $4.48M in general fund expenditures, supporting 23.35 FTE, and capital expenditures of $1.76M. Projected yearend (2025) fund balances are GF $1.2M and Capital $1.8M. The Colorado State Library ranks the WPL first in the state for per capita library visits and circulation, and third in the state for per capita program attendance.
This career opportunity is available with the scheduled retirement (late-March, 2025) of the library director, who has served as director for nearly 11 years. The library director reports to the board of trustees and oversees a management team, comprised of the managers of the library’s four key divisions: business office, operations, youth services, and public services.
A four-year degree in a relevant field of study; at least five years of progressively responsible experience in library administration; knowledge of library best practices, trends, issues, and industry software and databases; or any equivalent combination of education and experience are all required. A master’s degree in library science or library information science from an ALA- accredited school or program, or in a related field is also required. GENERAL NATURE OF POSITION
The administrative assistant delivers support services to selected San José State University students. Responsible for recordkeeping, database, and budget management, as well as other administrative support duties as needed. &nbsp;Additionally, this person will report directly to the ASPIRE/McNair Scholars program director. &nbsp;
ESSENTIAL DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES
<ol>
<li>Establishes and maintains a complex computerized system of files and records involving participant eligibility, demographic data, results of outcome objectives, and project contracts. Prepares written and statistical reports on student progress and outcomes as requested by the program director.</li>
<li>Maintains expenditure records by specific budget category. Creates and maintains computerized spreadsheets for budget monitoring and control. Reviews and verifies all computer printouts on program budget status prepared by SJSU Research Foundation accounting office.</li>
<li>Prepares quarterly budget reports and projected budget reports for the program director to monitor spending and the effective use of funds.</li>
<li>Assists the director in managing the program budgets and ensuring compliance with TRiO legislation and regulations as stated by the Department of Education.</li>
<li>Assists the director to ensure compliance in accordance with the grant contract with the U.S. Department of Education and SJSU Research Foundation policies and procedures.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Onboarding student staff and monitoring their daily tasks.</li>
<li>Clerical duties as assigned.</li>
<li>Coordinates office workflow and maintenance of files and records between ASPIRE and the McNair Scholars Programs.</li>
<li>Advises the director of any problem areas in handling office workflow, questions about program priorities, and suggestions for improving the efficient operation of the program office.</li>
<li>Arrange and coordinate travel and travel reimbursement for staff and participants of ASPIRE and McNair Programs.</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned.</li>

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Minimal. Provides training to student aids that work for ASPIRE and the McNair Scholars Programs. Assists with student’s time management and schedules. &nbsp;
QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience
<ul>
<li>Requires a minimum of an A.A. degree or equivalent. BA/S preferred.</li>
<li>Minimum of 4-6 years related experience.</li>
<li>Preferably with an accounting background or strong knowledge of handling various budgets.</li>
<li>TRIO experience preferred.</li>
</ul>
 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
<ul>
<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li>
<li>Ability to work independently in a culturally diverse setting.</li>
<li>PC experience including working knowledge of word processing, excel, and proficiency in interpreting database reporting and database management, bookkeeping and accounting.</li>
<li>Knowledge of office methods and procedures, particularly the handling of confidential student and personnel records.</li>
<li>Ability to maintain an efficient front operation with a strong service orientation to students.</li>
</ul>
 Physical Requirements

<li>Works in standard office environment with desk, telephone, computer, bookshelves and file cabinets provided. Maintains office copier and fax machine.</li>
</ul>

<li>Works with minimal direction on all assigned projects.</li>
<li>Exercises independent judgment in developing effective and productive office workflow.</li>
<li>Works independently in maintaining both electronic and hard copy records on participants.</li>
