Position Purpose
The Medical Laboratory Tech is responsible for analyzing various chemical, microscopic and bacteriologic tests to provide physicians with pertinent information regarding the patient's health under the supervision of the Medical Technologist or Pathologist.
Essential Functions
• Collects specimens.
• Performs specimen analysis and other tasks and procedures in hematology. urinalysis, serology, chemistry, blood banking, and microbiology.
• Reports analysis results appropriately.
• Other duties as assigned.&nbsp;

Required Qualifications • Possess a bachelor's degree or higher in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution; OR • Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology.
 Credentials • Must meet CLIA required qualifications for High Complexity Testing. • The ideal candidate will be certified or registry eligible for certification with the ASCP and obtain certification within six (6) months of hire. Details:

Education 
• Bachelor’s degree in a related scientific field
Experience
 • 1-2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory preferred
Skills and Knowledge
• Skill in the operation of laboratory equipment and instruments
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures and documentation practices 
• Knowledge of GCP 
• Experience with sterile technique required
