The Chief of Endocrinology will provide strategic leadership and direction for all aspects of the&nbsp;Division. The Division Chief will be responsible for all planning, policy, operations, and&nbsp;oversight of academic, research, and clinical programs of the Division. The Chief of Endocrinology&nbsp;will have financial authority over the division&nbsp; budget, including extramural research and&nbsp;philanthropic funding received and other financial matters for the division, in accordance with&nbsp;applicable University policies and practices. The Chief of Endocrinology will have discretion in&nbsp;the recruitment and retention of division faculty who will have a direct reporting line. Job Description
Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our dedicated OB/GYN team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to patients in all stages of life, including pregnancy, postpartum, and general gynecologic care. This role involves supporting physicians during exams, procedures, and patient education, with a strong emphasis on women’s health and patient comfort.
Key Responsibilities:
<ul>

Assist OB/GYN physicians with exams, procedures, and minor surgeries
</li>
<li>
Obtain and record patient vital signs, health history, and chief complaints
</li>
<li>
Prepare patients for gynecological and prenatal examinations
</li>
<li>
Administer prescribed medications and injections
</li>
<li>
Collect and label specimens (e.g., Pap smears, cultures, blood draws) for lab testing
</li>
<li>
Educate patients on reproductive health, prenatal care, birth control, and postpartum recovery
</li>
<li>
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation in the EMR system
</li>
<li>
Monitor and report changes in patient condition to RN or physician
</li>
<li>
Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and properly prepared for each patient
</li>
<li>
Adhere to infection control and safety procedures
</li>
<li>
Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients
</li>
</ul>
Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>
Current LPN license in [state]
</li>
<li>
Graduate of an accredited LPN program
</li>
<li>
Previous experience in OB/GYN or women’s health setting preferred
</li>
<li>
CPR/BLS certification required
</li>
<li>
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
</li>
<li>
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
</li>
<li>
Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
</li>
</ul>
Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, and assist patients for extended periods

Ability to lift and move equipment and patients as needed

Overview
Plans and manages patient care according to each patient's needs. Interviews patients and records their medical history and physical condition. Obtains patient vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and respiration. Provides routine care for patients.
 
Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Provide 1:1 care for client always following client’s plan of care while maintaining client's dignity and independence</li>
<li>Monitoring clients’ vital statistics and reporting abnormal findings to the case manager and physician assessments</li>
<li>Performs medication administration, feedings, oxygen, ostomy care as needed per client's plan of care and provided assessments of results</li>
<li>Complete routines as established by other care professionals such as Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, and Speech Therapist</li>
<li>Ensures infection control policies are maintained at all times, reports possible communicable diseases or infections, and ensures the overall implementation and practice of infection control procedures are implemented</li>
<li>Accurately documents nursing actions of all care given and communicates with family, case manager, and physicians as well as documents the progress and outcomes for established goals and informs physician, case manager, and families of changes in client's medical condition and needs</li>
<li>Orders supplies and medications, as needed, to ensure adequate amounts are on hand at all times</li>
<li>Ensures all patient needs are being met in accordance with the instructions of the physician.</li>
<li>Monitors incidents involving individuals. Ensures incident reports are completed timely, accurately, and case managers are informed; examines the individual following the incident</li>
<li>Ensures all medical equipment is maintained and reports faulty equipment to Durable Medical Equipment for repair</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned</li>
</ul>
 
Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Completed post-secondary coursework to facilitate licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse</li>
<li>Knowledge of individual service plans, including understanding of client rights and health needs</li>
<li>Proof of current license as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse in good standing from the state(s) of practice</li>
<li>CPR Certified</li>
<li>Excellent interpersonal skills, including customer service, patience, empathy, and compassion</li>
<li>In-depth understanding of patient care policies and regulations</li>
<li>Familiarity with symptoms and signs of improvement for several medical conditions</li>
<li>Moderate amount of travel between facilities may be required </li>
