A well-established medical practice in East Tennessee is seeking an IT Specialist to manage its technology infrastructure, EHR systems, and IT support needs. This role is essential for maintaining HIPAA compliance, system security, and efficient IT operations to enhance patient care and workflow.
Role Overview
As the IT Specialist, you will act as a one-person IT department, handling technical support, system management, and IT security while collaborating with an external IT service provider. Youll support approximately 90 users (including physicians) and 40 ancillary users across two office locations in the Knoxville metropolitan area.
Key Responsibilities
System Management:
<ul>
<li>Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and upgrades of Electronic Health Records (EHR) and medical software.</li>
<li>Manage data security, storage, and backup systems to ensure integrity and compliance.</li>
<li>Work with external vendors to resolve IT-related issues.</li>
</ul>
Technical Support:

<li>Serve as the primary contact for IT-related issues, troubleshooting and resolving technical problems.</li>
<li>Provide on-site and remote support for staff, physicians, and ancillary users.</li>

Job Summary
The Contact Center Specialist 1, under close supervision, responds to routine inbound calls, emails, and electronic requests. They assist as front-line help for product and service requests. This may include technical help, answering questions, registering new patients, and scheduling healthcare appointments. They also provide financial clearance, handle complaints, troubleshoot problems, and provide information for the institution.
Essential Functions of the Role
<ul>
<li>Responds to, and resolve routine inquiries, complaints and concerns through inbound phone calls, emails and electronic requests.</li>
<li>Ensures a positive and exemplary experience with all customers by focusing on customer satisfaction and resolution.</li>
<li>Provides accurate, valid, and complete information to customers using the right methods and tools. Identifies emergent health situations based on caller information. Coordinates immediate triage.</li>
<li>Works collaboratively with providers, clinical staff, and other departments to ensure patients' needs are met.</li>
<li>Accountable for calming upset customers by providing a composed and professional demeanor.</li>
<li>Identifies and escalates priority issues for resolution.</li>
<li>Documents all customer contacts and accurately processes various documents to ensure optimal service.</li>
<li>Schedules, prepares, and communicates appointment details and financial information. This ensures timely arrival, appointment preparedness, testing, and optimal reimbursement.</li>
<li>May need to ensure accurate creation of new accounts in the electronic medical record system, avoid duplicate accounts, and verify insurance coverage.</li>
<li>Writes messages on behalf of patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals to clinic administrative and provider staff.</li>

Key Success Factors

The&nbsp;Peer Support Specialist&nbsp;supports the work of Community and State at the direction of the Clinical Program Manager. He/She is specifically charged with supporting consumers and families daily, communicating with families and consumers to support their engagement, recruiting family members and consumers to serve on committees and task forces, and maintaining excellent relationships with all consumer- and family-run services and programs. He/She&nbsp;uses their own&nbsp;Recovery Lived Experienceand training to assist families and consumers with defining their Recovery goals, and developing the skills and knowledge needed for the consumer’s recovery.

Primary Responsibilities:

<li>Use his/her own Recovery experience and training to assist families and consumers with defining their Recovery goals, and developing the skills and knowledge needed for the consumer’s recovery</li>
