The Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Program at Cleveland Clinic is staffed by specially trained nurses who care for individuals who have experienced or witnessed any type of violence, including sexual assault, child abuse, interpersonal violence, elder abuse or human trafficking. After living through these events, many patients need additional support and encouragement as they cope with the lingering effects of trauma. As an RN on this team, you will provide this essential service, ensuring each person feels safe, comfortable, valued and understood throughout the entire documentation, investigation and treatment process. &nbsp;
A caregiver in this position works varying shifts from 10:00AM - 7:00PM or 9:00AM - 5:30PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will: &nbsp;

<li>Provide timely and accurate clinical assessment, care, intervention and documentation for patients who have been sexually assaulted or victims of child abuse, elder abuse, interpersonal violence (IPV) or assault. &nbsp;</li>
<li>Provide forensic evidence collection and/or photography as requested and maintain chain of custody for such evidence. &nbsp;</li>
<li>Develop a safety plan before patient's discharge, providing resources for follow up medical care and referrals for post care support services to the patient. &nbsp;</li>
<li>Collaborate with medical and nursing staff, law enforcement, prosecutors, protective services, advocates and other agencies and entities as needed.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Participate in an on-call schedule, as determined by SANE coordinator and respond to the designated facility within one hour.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Complete clinical experiences as determined by the SANE course and coordinator [e.g., Civilian observer with Cleveland Police or Cleveland Sex Crimes, Cleveland Rape Crisis Center, Domestic Violence/Child Advocacy Center, Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Family Justice Center (Cleveland), and Courtroom trial experience].&nbsp;</li>
<li>Perform speculum exams and/or pediatric assessments under the supervision of a LIP.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Utilize knowledge of anatomy/body structures, patterns of injury and collecting and managing of forensic evidence with a Sexual Assault Exam Collection (SAEC) kit and a Drug Facilitated Sexual Assault (DFSA) Kit.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Travel to other Cleveland Clinic Facilities as needed.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Attend continuing education as a Sexual Assault Nurse.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Provide clear and concise written documentation, photo documentation of injuries and/or evidence and court testimony as needed.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Participate in community awareness programs and professional organizations.&nbsp;</li>
</ul>
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: &nbsp;

<li>Completion of an IAFN approved SANE Adolescent/Adult Course within 60 days of hire&nbsp;</li>
<li>Completion of an IAFN approved SANE Pediatric course within one year of hire&nbsp;</li>

Position Summary:
The Safe Therapeutic Assault Response Team (START) program is seeking a Forensic Nurse Examiner to join our team. This role is responsible for providing high-quality, comprehensive, medical-forensic exams and care to sexual assault and intimate partner violence patients at HAVEN. This is primarily a night and weekend on-call position. We seek to reflect the diverse community we serve and be a welcoming, inclusive space for all. Under the guidance of the START Program Director and Senior Forensic Nurses, the Forensic Nurse Examiner will interact both in-person and via phone with patients needing urgent medical services and ensure that critical information and communication is provided to the patients in a reassuring, clear, and appropriate manner. 
Essential Duties:

<li>Assists and supports in the management of the HAVEN/START program.</li>
<li>Works as a team with First Response Advocates to implement trauma informed best practices.</li>
<li>Performs comprehensive medical forensic examinations of sexual assault and intimate partner violence patients, including the preparation and reporting of examination results. </li>
<li>Attends at a minimum of 8 monthly START team meetings.</li>
<li>Acts as a subject matter expert and participates in legal proceedings including providing expert witness testimony, as needed.</li>
<li>Promotes greater awareness of services for both patients and a wide variety of professionals.</li>
<li>Advocates for patients of sexual assault and domestic violence. </li>
<li>Assists with patient satisfaction surveys and program evaluations.</li>

FORENSIC MENTAL HEALTH Registered Nurse or LPC
 
Summit Psychological Associates is accepting applications for a full-time Mental Health Registered Nurse to join our team at the Summit County Jail to work in the Behavioral Health Unit. Our team of clinicians work with jail inmates to assist them in managing mental health and substance use concerns while incarcerated. The nusre provides daytime support to the psychiatrists who provide medication management at the county jail. The position requires one evening until 8pm although all other work time is during the day. 
The nurse works out of the Summit County Jail in the mental health unit. The following are tasks completed by the mental health nurse:
 
<ul>
<li>Individual crisis intervention in conjunction with other staff</li>
<li>Completing reviews of collateral information received for psychotropic medications and mental health treatment or diagnosis and effectively communicate this to the psychiatrist</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Update psychiatrist on any med changes, complaints of side effects, changes in mental status as observed or had reported to this RN, to assist with treatment planning</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Prepare and administer emergency injections as ordered by the psychiatrist</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Work in conjunction with behavioral health staff to monitor issues with medications to report to the psychiatrist</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Provide psychotropic medication education, provide explanations of Mental Health Court, lab work needed to inmates and other staff</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Complete and provide client with a discharge summary for community follow up treatment or medications after release from SCJ</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Document verbal medication orders given by psychiatrist and input into the EMR</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>MAR reviews and communication of concerns to the psychiatrist</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Maintaining and management of client records regarding psychiatrist visits and medication orders</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Complete nursing assessments, provide nurse to nurse reports and assist with the coordination for clients going to Northcoast Behavioral Health or Twin Valley</li>

<li>Maintains confidentiality</li>

<li>Provide interventions to clients as requested through a kite sent by the client to address medication questions or concerns or by referral from any other jail staff</li>
