Responsibilities

El/La Enfermero/a de Sala de Emergencias provee atención clínica especializada e inmediata a individuos en situaciones agudas o críticas, brindando cuidado integral en el contexto de un centro de salud primaria. El/La Enfermero/a de Sala de Emergencias es responsable de realizar estimados clínicos rápidos, priorizar intervenciones según la gravedad del paciente (triage), administrar tratamientos de urgencia y participar activamente en el cuidado y manejo de casos críticos hasta su referimiento o alta.
Actividades del Puesto

<li>Realiza triage, clasificando y priorizando a los pacientes de acuerdo a la severidad de su condición.</li>
<li>Brinda atención inmediata y estabiliza pacientes en situaciones críticas, siguiendo protocolos de emergencias.</li>
<li>Administra primeros auxilios avanzados y apoya en la ejecución de maniobras de resucitación cardiopulmonar (RCP) y activación de códigos de emergencia.</li>
<li>Acompaña y asiste a la Facultad Médica en procedimientos de emergencia como suturas, drenajes, control de hemorragias y manejo de heridas complejas.</li>
<li>Monitorea constantemente signos vitales y detecta signos de deterioro clínico para intervención oportuna.</li>
<li>Realiza la canalización de venas, manejo de vías intravenosas, administración de sueros y fluidoterapia urgente.</li>
<li>Administra medicamentos de emergencia, inmunizaciones y terapias inyectables bajo prescripción y protocolos establecidos.</li>
<li>Interpreta resultados básicos de laboratorio y pruebas rápidas en el contexto de emergencias, informando niveles críticos de manera inmediata.</li>
<li>Coordina la transferencia de pacientes a niveles de cuidado superior cuando es necesario, gestionando referidos y asegurando la continuidad de servicios.</li>

Your Role as an ER Nurse
<ul>
<li>
Triage and prioritize patient needs with speed, safety, and compassion
</li>
<li>
Perform thorough assessments and provide vigilant monitoring
</li>
<li>
Partner with physicians and interdisciplinary teams for optimal care
</li>
<li>
Administer medications and interpret diagnostics to guide treatment
</li>
<li>
Educate and support patients and families through every step of care
</li>
<li>
Accurately document patient encounters in the EMR
</li>
<li>
Respond decisively to changes in patient condition
</li>

Qualifications
<ul>
<li>
Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred)
</li>
<li>
2–5 years of Emergency Department or critical care experience
</li>
<li>
Current Arizona RN license with BLS, ACLS, and PALS (TNCC preferred)
</li>
<li>
Exceptional clinical judgment, critical thinking, and communication skills
</li>
<li>
Proficiency with EMRs and adaptability to new systems
</li>
<li>
Willingness to work 12-hour night shifts, including weekends and holidays
</li>
</ul>
