Working Conditions: The work environment is generally clean, inside buildings, with limited exposure to dust, fumes, odors, and noise. Incumbents will be working under sometimes difficult and stressful conditions, with frequent deadlines and the expectation to produce high quality work under limited time constraints.
Essential Functions: Specific tasks and duties may vary between assignments, however, the following are considered essential functions expected of the Court Reporter classification:

<li>Frequent and ongoing use of stenographic equipment to record verbatim proceedings;</li>
<li>Frequent and ongoing use of electronic equipment to produce transcripts and other documents;</li>
<li>Read back court proceedings in a clear concise manner in a courtroom or other setting;</li>
</ul>
Physical Demands:
<ul>
<li>Requires sitting at a keyboard and using fine hand coordination and with continuous high frequency repetitive motion, for extended periods of time, on a daily basis;</li>
<li>Occasional lifting, pushing, carrying of objects up to 15 pounds;</li>
<li>Requires walking, some bending, stooping, and squatting;</li>
<li>Continuous need for verbal comprehension and retention.</li>
</ul>
Examination:
<ul>
<li>A screening panel will be convened to select those applicants deemed most qualified to participate in a written and/or oral examination.</li>
<li>The examination process will include one or more of the following: application appraisal; written examination; oral examination.</li>

About the Position: This role offers the flexibility of being primarily remote while also requiring in-person coverage of depositions and legal proceedings. The position reports directly to the Senior Operations Manager.
Responsibilities: 
Assisting with live Prevail depositions/sessions, which include:
<ul>
<li>Recording on Prevail platform</li>
<li>Deposition Read on/Swearing in Witness</li>
<li>Marking and maintaining Exhibits</li>
<li>Monitoring and managing the session</li>
<li>Assisting any sessions with technical/administrative needs</li>
</ul>
Required Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Current Court Reporting or Notary License for state </li>
<li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills</li>
<li>Previous experience with video conferencing/database platforms</li>
<li>Excellent working knowledge of Google Workspaces/Slack/Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, etc.)</li>
<li>A webcam, headset, and computer are needed as well for remote depositions!</li>
</ul>
Compensation: 
Appearance Fee: $50-75 per hour; Page Rate: TBD. The range is based on several factors, including geographical location, level of experience, relevant skills, and knowledge.
