About the Role: UPS Industrial Services is seeking skilled and experienced Boilermakers to join our team. The ideal candidates will be based locally in the Chalmette, LA area, possess extensive experience and proficiency in the trade, and demonstrate the ability to interpret and work from blueprints, plans, and other technical drawings. These positions will involve maintenance and turnaround work as required. The roles are typically long-term. Please note, there is no per diem offered for these positions. This is a local job and does not pay per-diem so the ideal candidate must live within 50 miles of Chalmette, LA.
Requirements:

Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Be familiar and be able to interpret the results of various NDE methods such as PT, MT, UT and RT.</li>
<li>Deal with AI, client reps. and third party inspectors.</li>
<li>Be proficient in the testing of assembled vessels by pumping water or gas under specified pressure into vessels and observing the vessels and instruments for evidence of leakage.</li>
</ul>
Job Duties &amp; Essential Functions: :
<ul>
<li>Read blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work, locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.</li>
<li>Use knowledge of towers/columns, exchangers, boilers, heaters, reactors, drums, fin fans, pressure vessels, and other industrial equipment to perform duties</li>
<li>Properly select and use manual, pneumatic, and electric tools according to tasks</li>
<li>Hoist equipment and tools into location via bull rigging or crane.</li>
<li>Repair and replace trays and other internal components</li>
<li>Perform or assist with pulling bundles</li>
<li>Repair and replace boiler tubes</li>
<li>Fabricate equipment according to blueprints or instruction from Supervision</li>
<li>Verify vertical and horizontal alignment of structural-steel members, using plumb bobs, laser equipment, transits, and/or levels.</li>
<li>Connect columns, beams, and girders with bolts, following blueprints and instructions from supervisors.</li>
<li>Bolt align structural-steel members in position for permanent riveting or bolting.</li>
<li>Able to properly bolt and torque components according to equipment specifications</li>
<li>Pull, push, or pry iron/steel equipment into approximate positions for bolting into place.</li>
<li>Cut, bend, and weld iron/steel pieces, using metal shears, torches, and welding equipment.</li>
<li>Help maintain a safe and clean work environment</li>
<li>Perform all other duties as required</li>
</ul>
Qualifications and Experience:
<ul>
<li>Minimum of 8 years Boilermaker experience in Industrial or Petrochemical setting</li>
<li>NCCER certification a plus</li>
<li>Knowledge of building codes, industry standard concepts, practices, and procedures.</li>
<li>May be required to pass a craft test</li>

Locates and marks reference points for columns and plates on foundation; attaches rigging or signals crane operator to lift parts to specified position; aligns structures or plate sections to assemble boiler frame, tanks or vats; hammers, flame-cuts, files or grinds irregular edges of sections or structural parts to facilitate fitting edges together; bolts structures and sections together; positions drums and headers into supports or bolts supports to frame; aligns water tubes and connects and expands tube ends to drums and headers; bolts casing sections, uptakes, stacks, baffles and such fabricated parts as chutes, air heaters, fan stands, feeding tube, catwalks, ladders, coal hoppers and safety hatch to frame; installs trays in process towers; installs manholes, valves, gauges and feedwater connection in drums to complete assembly of water tube boilers; assists in testing assembled vessels.
 
Qualification Standards:
