Job Summary The barista is responsible for being the master craftsman of all beverage and food items offered by PJs Coffee. Full time barista for Blue Hat Coffee in downtown Farmington, MI.
Full time position, 35-40 hours a week. - Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, such as lattes, cappuccinos, and espressos - Take customer orders and process payments using a cash register or POS system - Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and making recommendations - Maintain a clean and organized work area, including restocking supplies and cleaning equipment - Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the quality and freshness of food and beverages - Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations and timely service - Handle customer complaints or concerns with professionalism and resolve issues to their satisfaction
Experience: - Previous experience as a barista or in a similar role is preferred but not required - Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and different coffee blends is a plus - Familiarity with basic math skills for cash handling and order processing - Ability to operate a cash register or POS system accurately - Strong sales skills to promote additional products or upsell to customers - Understanding of food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures - Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and provide friendly service - Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
