The Chief Pilot is responsible for managing all activities pertaining to the company’s Pilots. This position reports to the Director of Operations.
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
<ul>
<li>Lead pilot team and oversee operations of the flight department.</li>
<li>Provide leadership for training &amp; development in support of company vision and business goals.</li>
<li>Ensure compliance data integrity and security of all systems (safety, quality, etc.), policies and procedures, as well as federal and state laws and regulations, including federal/international aviation regulations.</li>
<li>Participate in pilot recruitment.</li>
<li>Manage pilot onboarding.</li>
<li>Complete initial and recurrent training, aircraft currency/proficiency and aircraft operating standards. </li>
<li>Manage career path management for the Pilot workforce and training to ensure operating requirements are met.</li>
<li>Conduct IOE flights with new pilots.</li>
<li>Fill in on the flight schedule as needed.</li>
<li>Participate in leadership meetings and projects as needed.</li>
<li>Provide mentorship and conflict resolution within the pilot body.</li>
<li>Coordinate with maintenance and dispatch to maintain operational control</li>
<li>Ability to follow and adhere to the Federal Aviation Regulations and Part 135 Op Specs.</li>

The Sr. Legislative Representative serves as an integral member of the advocacy team developing, analyzing, and promoting federal policy in the interests of ALPA members. Reporting to the Association’s Manager, Government Affairs and working collaboratively with other departments, they will function as part of ALPA’s Government Affairs team to advance ALPA priorities. Their emphasis will be on direct advocacy with Capitol Hill and the Administration, as well as providing advice related to legislation and legislative strategies. They will be responsible for analyzing legislation and regulations as well as drafting legislative proposals and issue papers. This position requires lobbying of Capitol Hill decision-makers and may include representing the Association in international and domestic venues with federal and international governmental representatives and industry stakeholders. Critical, strategic thinking, advocacy writing, and excellent interpersonal skills are essential. 
The successful candidate will have established Republican relationships and deep knowledge of the legislative process and aviation policy. Senior-level Capitol Hill and Administration policy experience in transportation is required. Labor union experience and/or an understanding of labor laws and the Railway Labor Act is valued, as well as an understanding of aviation policy. Demonstrated ability to analyze and craft legislative language, bills, and amendments required. 
Travel: 5 - 10 % with frequent local travel within metropolitan Washington, DC.

Minimum Requirements:

Position Summary

The Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA), the largest airline pilot union in the world and the largest non-governmental aviation safety organization in the world (representing over 80,000 pilots at 43 U.S. and Canadian airlines) seeks an experienced Paralegal for our office in Memphis, Tennessee. Under general supervision and within the limitations of Association policy, the Paralegal provides contractual and legal research support and assists in the analysis of contractual disputes, with particular focus on assuring pilot schedules and assignments are consistent with contractual requirements. They work closely with MEC officers, representatives, and committee volunteers to assist in gathering information and evidence in order to review and analyze potential contract issues and support and assist in the development of strategies and tactics for resolution. They interact with pilot members to assess whether potential disputes exist under the collective bargaining agreement and, if so, support pilot efforts to informally resolve the dispute with management while also handling contractual appeals of disputes that are not resolved earlier in the resolution process, including the subsequent processing of cases to the System Board of Adjustment. The Paralegal also provides assistance to Labor Relations Counsel in the preparation and presentation of cases at the Board and the research and drafting of post-hearing briefs. They also provide support and assistance in the preparation and processing of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) enforcement cases at all stages, up to and including appeals and filing appeal briefs. Minimum Requirements:
