As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will work under the supervision of the Nurse Manager/Clinical Coordinator, playing a crucial role in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. You will also supervise non-RN personnel and may take on charge responsibilities, ensuring smooth operations across nursing units.
Your Responsibilities

<li>Continuously assess patients' physical and psychosocial conditions throughout their care journey.</li>
<li>Develop and document individualized care plans, involving patients, families, and the healthcare team.</li>
<li>Implement and coordinate care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.</li>
<li>Evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and make necessary adjustments.</li>
<li>Plan and provide educational opportunities for patients and families based on their learning needs.</li>
<li>Serve as a preceptor for new staff, sharing your knowledge and expertise.</li>
<li>Take on charge nurse duties as needed, delegating and supervising unit activities.</li>
<li>Meet performance expectations in customer service, teamwork, and professional development.</li>
<li>Demonstrate competency in neonatal care, including IV line management and respiratory support.</li>
<li>Support breastfeeding initiatives in the NICU, collaborating with Lactation Consultants.</li>
</ul>
What We’re Looking ForQualifications
Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred. Proficient in electronic patient records and internet research.
Experience: Recent experience in level 2 or 3 neonatal care preferred.
Licensure: Valid State of Connecticut Registered Nurse license.
Special Skills:
<ul>
<li>BLS certification required.</li>
<li>NRP certification required within six months of hire.</li>
<li>NICU certification required within two years of completing orientation.</li>
</ul>
