SUMMARY:
Responsible for performing duties that include providing all types of diagnostic audiometric testing and interpretation.
 
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
<ol>
<li>Perform and interpret diagnostic testing, including but not limited to, comprehensive audiologic evaluations, impedance testing, ABR, ENG, fistula testing, OAE, CAP evaluation, ET included in impedance and Ecoch G, auditory process evaluations</li>
<li>Counsel patients regarding hearing aids; provide hearing aid evaluations and fittings</li>
<li>Order hearing aids in a timely manner and give to secretary for shipping</li>
<li>Perform in-house repair and modifications of hearing aids when possible</li>
<li>Conduct follow-up consultations and counseling</li>
<li>Advise appropriate patients on securing local, state or federal assistance for purchase of hearing aids</li>
<li>Monitor condition of equipment and call appropriate repair/maintenance personnel when necessary.</li>
<li>Monitor stock in each booth or room and replenish when low; advise Business Office personnel when supplies need to be ordered, providing detailed reorder list</li>
<li>Clean headphones, probe tips, etc., on a regular basis</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned</li>

Requirements:
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
<ol>
<li>Doctor of Audiology (AuD) from an accredited program</li>
<li>State license from the State of North Carolina Board of Examiners Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists</li>
<li>National board certification</li>
<li>Skill in preparing written patient evaluations</li>
<li>Manual dexterity to calibrate equipment</li>
<li>Ability to relate to individuals of all ages</li>
<li>Above-average communication, language, and interpersonal skills</li>
<li>Unimpaired or corrected hearing/listening skills</li>
</ol>
