<li>Classroom Management: Maintain a classroom environment that prioritizes student engagement and safety, implementing the behavior plan, modifying state-adopted curriculum, and employing strategies to effectively teach students with various disabilities.</li>

<li>IEP Meetings and Documentation: Attend IEP meetings for students assigned to the classroom. Write updates for each student's annual IEP in coordination with the school district, and enter all IEP updates (Present Levels, BIP, ITP, and Goals) into SEIS 7 days prior to the scheduled meeting.</li>

<li>Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other staff and outside agencies to effectively educate each student.</li>

<li>Instructional Planning: Plan instruction and design learning experiences based on data. Conduct summative assessments with each student no less than three times per year.</li>

<li>Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development activities, including twice-monthly teacher meetings and monthly all-staff trainings. Teachers are encouraged to engage in additional professional development outside of Point Quest.</li>

The Special Education Teacher plans and provides appropriate learning experiences for students in a variety of educational settings, and is responsible for creating an environment that provides specialized instruction, such that students benefit from curriculum and classroom structure to the greatest extent possible, in collaboration with other team members. This position leads the development and delivery of the Individualized Education Plan and progress reporting on defined student goals and objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

<li>Employs special educational strategies and techniques during instruction to improve the development of the student as defined in the IEP</li>
<li>Adapts classroom work to provide students with instructional materials that address the IEP within established lesson plans, and differentiates individualized needs within group learning contexts</li>

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

EXPECTED SCHEDULE
Full-time days and hours of the workweek are Monday through Friday as agreed upon by management, the classroom schedule, and the respective school district calendar. This position is also expected to work range of 190-192 professional days annually. This is a 10-month position with incentivized compensation provided to those staff that work the Extended School Year schedule. 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

<li>Valid and active Instructional I or II Special Education Certification from the Commonwealth of PA required</li>
<li>Previous experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders required, with knowledge of inclusion practices and Applied Behavior Analysis programming preferred</li>

<li>Successful completion of all pre-employment requirements, including First Aid &amp; CPR required</li>
