Job Title: Special Education Teacher Adaptive/Resource
Location: Hamilton, GA
Position Type: Full-Time, Contracted through ProCare Therapy
Primary Function:
ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher (Adaptive/Resource) to work in a school setting in Hamilton, GA. The teacher will support the academic success and personal growth of students with special needs by implementing approved curriculum, adapting instructional strategies, and monitoring student progress. This role requires collaboration with students, parents, and school staff to meet individual educational goals while ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in alignment with state standards and district policies.
  • Provide direct instruction to students in adaptive curriculum and/or resource room settings.
  • Monitor, document, and communicate student progress, activities, and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure accommodations and modifications are implemented effectively.
  • Utilize behavioral modification techniques to support positive student behavior.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare required reports.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development as required.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in a job-related field.
  • Valid Georgia Teacher Certification or eligibility for Georgia certification.
  • Certification areas:
  • Special Education Adaptive Curriculum (P-12) Consultative [FLD805]
  • Special Education General Curriculum (P-12) Consultative [FLD798]
  • Small group classroom teaching experience preferred.
  • Behavioral modification training/experience preferred. Work Schedule:
    • Full-time, 8-hour school days
    • Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM 3:30 PM
    • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required for job-related duties
