Delaware Guidance Services for Children and Youth, Inc. (DGS) is the largest provider of outpatient behavioral health services to children and families in Delaware. Our client population is racially and ethnically diverse; 80% of DGS clients are Medicaid recipients and 90% have household incomes under $30,000. Many of our clients present with significant treatment challenges including learning impacts due to missed school and negative economic impact due to parental missed work. The Advanced Clinical Training Program (ACTP) Clinician is a Graduate level (Master’s level) clinician responsible for providing clinical behavioral health services to children and families. Clinicians in this program further develop therapeutic skills, build core clinical competencies, and have the opportunity to practice these skills and competencies in a family-based child guidance setting. Clinicians provide therapeutic services under the direct supervision of a licensed clinician while earning their required hours toward licensure. 
 
Essential Functions: 
 
Clinical

<li>Attends and actively engages in core ACTP training sessions in accordance with ACTP onset date </li>
<li>Provides evaluative, diagnostic, and psychotherapeutic services to children, adolescents, adults, and their families</li>
<li>Conceptualizes course of treatment inclusive of appropriate modalities, interventions, frequency and duration of clinical services</li>
<li>Assesses clients’ needs and risks by utilizing crisis intervention skills and/or services </li>
</ul>

<li>Applies knowledge related to developmental factors, family and community systems in order to develop and implement treatment planning</li>
<li>Maintains an assigned caseload in compliance with agency standards related to direct clinical care</li>
<li>Demonstrates comprehensive skills in providing evaluation, diagnosis, and therapeutic services to build resilience in children, adolescents, adults, and families</li>

Under the supervision of the Crisis Program Manager, the MRSS Crisis Supervisor plans, directs and coordinates activities of MRSS (Crisis Intervention/Prevention) to ensure that clinically appropriate goals and procedures are accomplished in accordance with risk factors, time limitations, funding requirements, and JCAHO and licensing regulations.
DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES:

<li>Responsible for making the final decision to hospitalize or to place a child in a crisis bed.</li>
<li>Facilitate ongoing crisis training to encourage growth among crisis counselors.</li>
<li>Provide on-site field assistance to crisis counselors as needed.</li>
<li>Implement and coordinate ongoing group and individual supervision for the crisis counselors paying attention to licensing requirements and employee career development.</li>
<li>Work closely with the community mental health providers, law enforcement departments, State of Delaware hospitals and Prevention and Behavioral Health Services to facilitate appropriate services for children and their families.</li>
<li>Develop and maintain ongoing procedures to manage crisis situations ranging from decompensation of the mentally ill, drug/alcohol problems, suicidal/homicidal ideation, family conflict, physical and sexual abuse, etc.</li>
<li>Participate in one week a month on-call rotation for supervisory consultation with crisis clinicians who are assessing clients in the community</li>
<li>Uphold professional standards of treatment and the mission of Delaware Guidance Services in imparting services to children and their families.</li>
<li>Maintain a quality code of conduct, ethics and professionalism as demonstrated in the MRSS Program Manual.</li>
<li>Impart clinical knowledge and expertise in a manner congruent with providing goal-directed and team-oriented services towards children.</li>

ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Intensive Community Services Clinician is responsible for providing clinical behavioral health services in the community to DGS Clients. Therapists in this program will provide mental and behavioral health support to clients and their families, assisting them in being able to step-down to a less intense level of care.

Community Services Therapist (Part-time/PRN) - Master Level

Position Summary: 
A paraprofessional support position providing basic breastfeeding information and encouragement to pregnant and breastfeeding enrolled WIC participants.
 
Job Responsibilities:
• Attends breastfeeding training classes to become a peer counselor.
• Receives a caseload of WIC mothers and makes routine periodic contacts with all mothers assigned as outlined by WIC Breastfeeding Coordinator.
• Gives basic breastfeeding information and support to new mothers, including telling them about the benefits of breastfeeding, overcoming common barriers, and getting a good start with breastfeeding. She also helps mothers prevent and handle common breastfeeding concerns.
• Counsels WIC prenatal and breastfeeding mothers in the WIC clinic, by telephone, and/or hospital visits at scheduled intervals determined by the WIC Program. Can make these contacts outside the normal WIC office hours as needed.
• Responds to WIC mothers who contact her as soon as possible, within 24 hours at most, utilizing the cell phone or office phone provided by the employer.
• Respects each mother by keeping her information strictly confidential.
• Keeps accurate records of all contacts made with WIC mothers.
• Adheres to all organizational policies and procedures relative to exposure control.
• Refers non scope-of-practice inquiries to:
o WIC Nutritionist or Breastfeeding Coordinator
o Lactation consultant
o Healthcare providers
o Community agencies and programs
• Attends and assists with prenatal classes, facilitated group discussions, hospital visits, and breastfeeding support groups as offered.
• Attends monthly staff meetings and breastfeeding conferences and workshops as appropriate.

• Reads assigned books and materials on breastfeeding that are provided by Breastfeeding Coordinator.
• May assist WIC staff in promoting breastfeeding peer counseling through special projects and duties as assigned.
• May deliver and educate on breast pumps, after assessment by Breastfeeding Coordinator, a Qualified Nutritionist or Competent Professional Authority and provide education and follow-up under the guidance of the Breastfeeding Coordinator.
• Complete mandatory trainings and read mandatory policies as required by Oak Orchard Health.
• May participate in outreach and public health detailing as assigned.
• Complies with all New York State WIC Program and Oak Orchard Health policies.
• Any other reasonable requests from management.
Requirements:

Skills/Qualifications:
· Has breastfed at least one baby (does not have to be currently breastfeeding) and within the target WIC population.
· Is enthusiastic about breastfeeding and wants to help other mothers enjoy a positive experience.
· Can work between 10-15 hours per week based on caseload needs. This is a per diem position and requires flexibility in schedule. Some evenings and weekends may be required.
· Must be available to work in office and work from home available as determined by supervisor.
· Has reliable transportation. Car and valid Driver's license required. Must maintain vehicle insurance. Car must be registered in New York State and maintain minimum requirement, by law, to have liability insurance.
· Has good organizational skills, enabling her to manage her assigned caseload, keep track of her scheduled clinic hours, meetings, and trainings, and meet deadlines.
· Current or previous WIC participants are preferred.
· Is committed to creating a positive team environment and being a good team member.

What You’ll Do: Provide rehabilitative support to adults in Group Living Environments (GLE), fostering skills for daily living and community integration. Key responsibilities include:
