Job DescriptionThe Cisco Network Engineer (Information Technologist IV) is part of a dynamic team that delivers Information Technology, Digital Trainer and Logistics, which includes private networks used to conduct training and training support for our DoD Customer. The successful candidate shall provide configuration, installation, commission, operation, and troubleshooting of private networks, which are used to conduct training and overall training support for the training mission. These private networks are comprised of a CISCO core switch, CISCO node switches, and CISCO distribution switches. Job Responsibilities:

Sr. Network Engineer
Pay Range: $70/hour to $80/hour 
 
The Senior Cisco Network Engineer performs a broad variety of technical engineering support, design, architecture for monitoring and managing the Systems data infrastructure and systems. 
Other duties and responsibilities for the role are as follows: 
 
<ul>
<li>Develop and implement standards, policies and procedures, and works as a liaison with contractors and vendors to ensure the integrity and security of the network and infrastructure Serves as a mentor for Network Engineers and must be able to work independently to come up with network designs and assemble and guide implementation teams</li>
<li>Perform maintenance, and upgrades of networks, including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and network management systems</li>
<li>Monitor network connectivity and ensure high quality data transmission</li>

Qualifications for the Role: 
 
<ul>
<li>10 years as a Network Engineer responsible for day to day tasks plus projects experience working in Enterprise size environments</li>
<li>Healthcare experience a huge plus</li>
<li>Hands-on configuration of Cisco Routers, Switches etc.</li>
<li>Ten plus years of experience as a Network Engineer in a complex multi-platform, multi-protocol environment.</li>
<li>Experienced in planning, designing, and documenting Cisco equipped networks with 15,000 plus nodes with large domains and deployments</li>
<li>Experience with selection and strategic direction of network and security technologies and architecture</li>
<li>Perform concept and testing to network security design and solutions, vulnerability and penetration testing, and threat mitigation</li>
<li>Requires expertise in network monitoring, analysis, management, and configuration tools or expertise with server/systems monitoring and management tools</li>
<li>A packet level expertise in network traffic analysis</li>
<li>Strong project management and interpersonal skills; ability to deal effectively with diverse skill sets and personalities, provide strong team leadership, and work effectively as a team player</li>

<li>Strong understanding of Cisco ACI architecture, policies, and integration.</li>
<li>Familiarity with routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP), VLANs, and network segmentation.</li>
<li>Experience with network troubleshooting methodology and performance monitoring.</li>
<li>Exposure to automation tools (Ansible, Python) and infrastructure-as-code practices.</li>
<li>Experience with ticketing/change request processes in enterprise environments.</li>
<li>Excellent communication and collaboration skills.</li>
</ul>
Preferred Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Cisco certifications: CCNA (required), CCNP (preferred).</li>
